Not gonna lie... been reading up on the FZ8 and I'm falling in love. Would trade the Raider in for one of those in a heart beat.

I'll be the first to admit I jumped into a big bike to soon. While the Raider is hella fun to ride, its a big heavy bike in stop and go traffic and a waste of 1900cc. I don't want to trade in that mistake for another A FZ1 would be that mistake. A FZ6 would likely just be a new version of my 2000 YZF 600. I wouldn't mind a slight step up from that model and the naked look of the FZ8 is very eye catching.

Buddies got the FZ8, great low/mid range torque for a I4. Only complaint is lack of helmet hooks and very soft front end. Its got very comfortable ergos

2012 World super bike championship got underway today. Aprilia's Max Biaggi won going away.http://www.cyclenews.com/articles/ro...on-with-a-win/

Atlanta SX tonight. Even with Reed out, Ben Lamay couldn't qualify. The move to the East coast brings out a whole new set of riders. He got poor starts all night long.

I recorded the first two races of the superbike races on SPEED yesterday. have yet to watch em.

I find it funny that superbikes will race in the rain but Daytona got cancelled.

Sorry about spoiling it mav. I won't disclose the eventual outcome.

I too find it a bit pathetic that rain sends the NASCAR crowd home. For racing based on production vehicles, it sure seems like racing lite.

Moto gp, world superbike, motocross and super cross , even AMA superbike all race in the rain. They'll delay for lightening storms but once that is over, line it up.

Hey nomadgene I just finished watching both superbike races I recorded on sunday. holy cow what an awesome second race with the #3 Aprillia going off into the grass (dropping from first place) on the first lap only to battle back and take second place by the end of the race. An incredible amount of balls and skill shown during the battle he had for second place. wow...

Yep, I follow it pretty closely. I didn't want to disclose that little surprise.

The Aprilia's straightaway speed and grip are on another level compared to the other bikes. They will be running a prototype motor in a Moto GP bike this season on one of the CRT (claiming rules teams).

That being said, I am jonesing for a ride these days.

I was very impressed by that #3 but not to take away from the rider, he was very determined to win.

And the riding itch keeps getting worse every day. even worse then last year. I can only hope I can fight it off long enough so I don't make a mistake about getting out on the roads to early. I do believe the main roads will be clear long before my side street is. Its going to be a river come spring.

I've been looking into what it would take to swap the front of my 2000 YZF600 into say a 2000 R6 front end. I have to take all the farring off anyway to perform the service on it. Most of the fasteners will need to be replaced when I do and I wanted to repaint the bike. Simply changing out all the pieces might be cheaper if it can be done. Then I'll still have my R6 HAHA

#3 is Max Biaggi…..he is a past multi time MOTO GP champion (which is like the F1 of motorcycle racing). Carlos Checa (the guy who won the 2nd leg) is also a past Moto GP rider.

These world super bike riders are either on their way up to MOTO GP or on their way back down the ladder.

MAX won the WSB championship two years ago, Last year Checa won…largely because Max had a horrible year with DNF's, mistakes and injuries.

Checa is an incredible rider in his own right…I mean the guy had a 110 MPH get off in race one then came back to win the 2nd leg….so, hey….try that on for size. There are NO small mistakes in road racing!

That high side dump in the first race looked painful. at least no one hit the guy as he slid off.

The guys in the booth kept refering to Max as the "old guy" at 40? lol I don't think his age is ever going to hold him back.

Yeah, Max left Moto GP back in 2005 at the conclusion of the season.

Checa left in 2008.

Their both old guys as far as road racing goes. Most start in their early teens, peaking at age 22-27. Kind of like motocross.

Even though they are past their peak there is still plenty of gas in the tank.

2nd coolest thing I've seen today.

A naturally aspirated 800cc MOTO GP bike, 240 HP, 330lb bike in the hands of the current world champion.
