I don't get why people spend $40+ dollars instead of just drilling the wholes? Let's face it, if you're in a state that needs front plates, it's always going to be covered, and if you were to remove the plate, chances are good you would run a plate delete to cover the holes that are already there. Nobody will see the wholes there, and it will cost you about $1 for the plastic inserts, it wouldn't hurt your resale value, and will be secure.
Not ranting, but a serious question.

drilling holes in the bumper makes it ugly if you relocate the plates.
drilling holes to hold the plates doesnt mean they will fall off later
drilling holes in the middle of the bumper doesnt decrease the value of the car it just pervents "cooler people" from relcating the plates to the side.

Rivard04, get the short one. That's what I ordered for my 2011 and it works fine. We have the same front bumper.

Any idea what size mount would be good for a 2012/2013 Impreza? The bracket size website doesn't list either of those model years, but does have a diagram describing how to measure. I just ordered my 2013, so I cannot measure myself. Does someone have a 2012 or 2013 who can check the depth of the bumper?
