Oh no! Bummer man! Hope you are able to fix it sooner then later.

About the gauges... In the 2011 thread someone mounted a small dash pod upside down above the rearview (which is were I keep my radar detector) it's out of the way from sight but isn't so much out of the way that it distracts you from driving.

Didnt mean to be creepy ive seen a couple people do it and have came out with the same damage so I put 2n2 together... I would be pissed too especially when you take precautions to try not to hit anything and it still happens.
I bet insurance would ignore it, since it was an accident and no one else was involved. My wife totaled her baja due to "slippery" conditions and the insurance looked over it because she had a clean record. Ide look into it, call your insurance n ask questions but don't give them your name.

Yeah but I dont want them to say its ok, go through with it, and have them change their mind and say it was somehow my fault...
I really dont need my rates going up.

Just installed my oem subwoofer. I don't understand why people say it sucks. It's actually a lot better and more cleaner Lol. It saves space and it's a PNP

Man I wish they just had a lip add on to make our front bumpers look like the WRX premium ones, too bad its built into the f****n bumper so you'd have to buy one. Canada is lucky cuz they have those as a add on package. Lol just venting because ever since I ripped off my lip, I've been on the lookout for something similar, but no luck.

Yeah, I was looking at buying it actually. It seems like it would be easier to install than anything else. I'm a little skeptical though, just because the stereos that come stock in these cars normally leave a little to be desired, so I'm afraid the OEM part might not be too impressive. I like where it goes, though.

Home Depot. It's just 1 1/2" aluminum bar that I cut, bent, drilled, and painted. It helped A LOT. With the bouncing issue.
And thanks about the wheels, they used to be polished face and anthracite. The clear on them started peeling so I had them powder coated. I'll wash the car eventually and get some better pics up.

yeah, i felt that way too. but its a real step up to the stock. theres more of a kick, its not one of those car rattling, hearing every low bass frequency types/ "dubstep whomp".(but you can make it like that if you want ) i tuned it to where there is a little of that but not so much it muffles everything else. i made it to where you can feel and hear the kick.

That's what I needed to hear. I want it to be a little more punchy and let my factory door speakers relax a little

I got 80k out of mine. Mostly highway, moderate driving. Honestly would have bought them again if not for the insane OEM price.

I got Yokohama Envigors to replace them, for about $400 done deal, and I'm happy with them overall. Quieter, maybe softer ride too. Maybe a smidge better on dry road. Can't say on wear yet, but they look okay so far. I think the wet and snow traction is maybe a little less, but not enough to matter for me.

Agree. Love my color, hate keeping it clean. But it's worth it to me. Minor scratches here and there not noticeable unless you're staring and a couple chips too.

I've heard other people say that the OEM sub is really more like completing the OEM stereo system, and that the stock HU and sub were really designed to work together, rather than seperately.

Won a bet with the wife so I plan to get mine and put it in this spring.

Lol yeah I agree. And it really does complete the sound system. My friend that I drive to school asked me if I upgraded my sound system and I'm like, "nope just a sub". And he's like "WTF where?" and I'm like "under my butt" LOL xD

And I'd probably recommend getting a used one, it's a lot cheaper, but most of the time they come without a harness. I've seen harnesses go for $30 but are super rare.. And my sub was $60 shipped. My total price of it would probably be around $145 compared to subaru's $200+.

Yep, before the sub my bass setting was around 6 or 7, and it still didn't provide the kick. But after I installed it and turned the gain (volume) of the subs probably like 3/4 high the bass setting on the stereo is around -3 to 2(depending on the song xD) and the kick is even more then without and the setting is all the way up.

500 watts of Walmart grade audio equipment
I dig it but would rather save towards my WRX funds than upgrade my car's audio beyond a headunit and cheap sub.

Edit: I'm a bass whore.

Yeah super rare. I'm looking out now and then for a couple years and to find a good harness is hard to do. For a difference of ~$50, I'd rather have a complete brand new (unmuffed up) unit. I'm fine with that.

Not being a student any more, $50 isn't killing me. I'd rather do it right the first time and be done with it. I've got a job, family, etc, I don't have time to pull the dash and seat every weekend.

I'm at a crossroad here, guys. Need some advice.

I want to upgrade my wheels, tires, and suspension, but I also want to get a sub, amp, and a new head unit. However, I've typically used my car for auto-x and spirited driving, so stancing my car doesn't have much use when it comes to spirited driving.

While I want to maintain the ability to do auto-x and stuff, I realize my car is never going to be fast (like a wrx or sti) so why not make it look sexy? I'm thinking some 18x9 or 9.5, lowering it (though not slamming it), and maybe a bit of tuck going on. Low, but daily-driveable.

Am I crazy? I don't want it SUPER low, but I figure if I'm going to be getting some new rims that wide, why not go all the way. But then I lose the ability to do auto-x... Is there a happy medium?

(I already know I'm crazy )

Put all that money toward suspension upgrades that will, in turn, make it more fun to auto-x.

Function > form.

I was talking about the stock under spoiler for the 09 WRX. I would like to have just an add on to make it look a bit better but I called my dealer and they said that there's no add on and that its built into the bumper. Sorry I didn't really clarify what I was referring to.
