Default Improved fuel economy 27.7 MPG HWY

Hi
Did my first long drive today up Hwy 20 (north Cascade HWY) up to the closed section from Vancouver.
My average HWY MPG has been 22.2 with some spirited driving, but today after the install of the catless DP I'm gettting 27.7, that's a pretty big improvement

Nice! After my dp install I got 15.3 on my first tank. Between datalogging and screwing around I'm doing horrible. Lol, now for some self control on this next tank.

mpg report... stock car, full tank of gas to start
drive an hour each way (country roads) to the auto-x event
many runs
15 mpg (normal driving gets me 25 mpg)

two days of same activities, then refilled when I got home

I assume you have access to a helmet (your own, borrow one or they have loaners). You can't drive without one on

To get through "Tech Inspection", you will need to remove all loose items in the car. yes, even floor mats. Bring some Painter's tape to tape your number on the car (if you don't have magnetic numbers already). Bring a chair, sunblock, snacks/drink (no alcohol), camera, weather dependent clothes (rain coat, etc.). You'll be a big hit if you bring a 50 count of Munchkins

You'll want to have your tires ~40 lbs of pressure, this is what works best for my '11 WRX. If you have a tire pressure gauge and an air compressor, having them is a good idea.

Wear what is comfy, but I think you need close toed shoes (no sandals), sneakers are best as you may have to run and shag cones. Everyone has to work a shift, so expect that. To play you also must do your work part.

When you start your runs, "don't try to drive fast". I know that makes no sense right now, but it will. Your first time, work on trying to stay on course and not hitting any cones. Don't worry about putting up a great time, faster times will come with experience.

Default whatever

I mean really if you were so concerned about smog then why didn't you but a Prius., because you wanted a car that went like stink, and smelled like stink, and going catless a I can vouch for the stink
Hey and besides a little more stink and alot less gas.

I don't want to either but it's something I'd want to clear up so people aren't confused as to whether they can run catless in cali for 5 or 6 years..

http://www.dmv.ca.gov/online/vrir/faqsmog.htm

"Owners of vehicles six or less model years old will pay an annual smog abatement fee for the first six registration years instead of being required to provide a biennial smog certification."

So 6 years exempt from smog if bought brand new and biennial = every 2 years after those 6 years.

Their is still quite a difference between a Catted WRX and a prius. Im not worried about the fumes for the environment I just don't want it to smell like a hot rod when I get out of the car. Just preference. I mainly went Catted because it is was the stage 2 map is designed to work with. I am not doing anything screwy on my car and to me running a map designed for Catted and then knowingly running catless makes no sense. Again just my preference, and no offense to anyone with that setup, just not for me.
