Yakima already has a kit released for the 2012 4 door. It's Q Towers and 2 sets of Q116 clips, plus a pair of 58" crossbars. This will build you your base rack. Most likely, any Thule ski or cycling racks you already own would attack to the Yakima round bars. Any Yakima ski or cycling racks will obviously work with this setup. I'm a huge Yakima advocate because I worked there for a while and I really truly believe they do make the best racks. They certainly have the best team of people behind them, plus their customer service is unsurpassed. My experience with Thule (as a customer, before ever coming to work for Yakima) was not very good.

This was the landing pad I was using on my Jeep and it works just fine with my Impreza. At somepoint I'm going to cut my bars down as my passengers keep racking their heads while getting in/out. |

I transfered the Thule 450 Crossroad Foot Pack and 50" load bars from my '04 Outback to my Sports roof rails with no problems. The front 50" bar works with about 1.5 inches sticking out on both sides, enough for the end caps to fit on. The rear has a little more excess. I'm running a fairing as well, and I have not noticed any harm to MPG. Getting about 2 MPG above EPA estimates for city and highway driving like a normal human. 5-speed.
took some picture this morning at dawn so sorry about the quality, but they should get the job done to give an idea.. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by kevinsUBARU; 03-16-2012 at 07:34 AM. Reason: pictures added |

Can someone tell me how I can get some side rails in Canada? They are not an option here and I can't find them anywhere.

So, is there anyway to take the sport rails OFF of the sport hatch? I spent about 5 minutes looking over them the other day and I can't find any thing that would suggests they are removable. I don't have any need for them at the moment and I think rails clash with my spoiler aesthetically.

I will have your roof rails if you don't want them! There will be a way to remove them. PM me if you are interested.

Take some close up pics along the inside length of the rails and post them up. You might need to get a ladder to be able to get the angle right.

Yeah, i bought the Yakima Kit listed from etrailer and it is completely different from what Yakima site says fits our vehicles The clips are incorrect and the bars are not long enough. The etrailer setup is poping off while im driving. So dont buy it. Im on the phone with them now to see what they will do to help. They are sending me the correct clips. The 48" bars will work. Just ordered a 2012 Sport Limted Hatch. Was going to go withthe Aero Crossbars, but then learned Subaru has new round Crossbars that are "universal" and I think they are made by Yakima.
Has anyone have this setup? Are they any good? Care to share some pics? Thanks for your insight... |

The part number for the OEM round crossbars for the 2012 impreza is E361SSC100. So I can let you know how they fit if I pull the trigger. Subaru parts mall has them for 279.

Does anyone know if the Subaru OEM crossbar
E361SFJ000 would be compatible with Thul, Yakima, or sportrack attachments? |

I got my 5 door premium about 3 weeks ago, wanted the sport premium but here in so cal you have to be lucky to find one. salesperson said, 'oh sure you can add the sport roof rails and crossbars to the car'. 3 weeks later and they install the silly normal cross bars, apparently it's not possible to order the sport rails. I liked how they blended with the lines of the car. The ones im stuck with are f#$%ing ugly.
oh well, at least i can take them off when not in use right? haha.![]() |

So I imagine that any attachment that fits the 'Aero' style crossbars, be it Yakima, Thule, Inno, RockyMounts, etc, I imagine it'll work. Attachments that fit the 'Round' style crossbars will not work with the OEM crossbars. Hope it helps. |

Haha, I still need them funny guy, my gripe was that you can't order the rails that come on the Sport models from the stealerships. They're starting to grow on me though, I think my biggest aversion to them is the shiny in the middle, maybe i'll have to tag them with plastidip when I tone down the fog lamp bezels tomorrow.
