A few months ago, I stumbled across a new type of CV joint, and I immediately thought it would be great for axles and driveshafts, if it could be made suitable for the high RPMs.
So I guess this is the place to ask: have you guys at DSS looked into using a Thompson coupling in place of the Rzeppa and/or tripod joints? The main obstacle I can see is the strength of the inner bearings, yokes, and scissor links. The CV joint wikipedia article has a nice cutaway of the joint. |
