Default possibly moving to HI later this year...

As with any move, Id like to get some insight on the car registration rules and what is passable. My car is in no way, in compliance with any state emissions laws(ie. no cats, rotated setup...). I dread having to register my car there and having to source all kinds of parts and get a tune just to "pass" emissions. Is there any hope for my STi and I? Any recommendations from anyone that has gone through the same ordeal??

Any advice is greatly appreciated

If I remember correctly (and if they havent changed anything) is they dont have emissions. They do, however, have a safety check and if your car is lowered etc. you have to get a reconstruct permit. Go over the www.i-club.com and go to the Hawaii forums there that is where all the guys hang out. Hope that helps! Have fun out there the Suby scene is huge I miss it bad!!

Sounds like I have a chance. I'll check out I-club and see what's up. Thanks.

yeah i-club is where its at for us. NO emissions but there is a safety inspection out here that if you have certain mods you have to do recon(reconstructed) permit. Toughy to pass and you wont. gotta find a hookup for look into keeping the outta state tags and just get the blue outta state sticker thing. Not sure if that waves your safety or recon
