Default Buying a used 91 loyale awd, suspention q's

Ive searched for my answer for a while. So as the title states, im going to pick up a decent shape loyale with 150000k on her. And when the repairs start theres just a tune up and oil leak fix, then the worn suspention in that order.

Is there a wrx/legacy strut, sway bar, spring combo that will make things a bit more stable to drive? Such as lane changes and sudden braking situations and the like.

If I lower it about an inch id be happy with that. Its not going to see more than maintained dirt roads on a rare occasion any way.

Thanks for any info! Kris

I tried to find you a thread, but its late and I need to go to bed... but look up 5 lug swap on here: http://www.ultimatesubaru.org/forum/ and you will likely either find parts for sale, or how to do the conversion on your car.

Try looking for some KYB AGX shocks for it.
Best way to beef it up without doing the swap.

I was considering that shock set up, then came across this 5 lug swap. Main reason I want to do this is to fit a set of 98 gt 16" snowflakes on it, along with some sway bars. Im still reading up on what subaru to remove these parts from. ill be dumpster diving at a local junk yard this coming wknd cause I spotted a 1st gen legacy there and they have the 5x100mm pattern I need.

Any body confirm this? Taking lots of pics and measurements with me also....

The 2 major parts and hardest to find are the lower control arms and rear backing plates(XT6). There are ways to get around this tho. You can redrill the lower control arm ball joint hole to accept the EJ knuckle. For the rear you can use a EJ backing plate but you will need to fab and weld a plate to get it to fit on the EA hub. More searching over at USMB should get results for you.

Pretty much an 85+ GL should fit.... but be warned sometimes parts places can pull the wrong part because the 2nd gen cars overlapped with the 3rd gen cars. Yours is 3rd gen.
