I've got the 75% warning message on my 6GB plan multiple times. I have used up around 400MB in this past week already

Mobilicity has far worse coverage than Wind. That's who I originally switched to from Fido. Wind customer service? I have no idea since I never deal with them. Why would I? My bill stays exactly the same every month, no mystery charges, no coverage charges and I get coverage pretty much every I exist on a normal day to day basis. Roaming rates are 25 cents per minute and believe it or not, stay the same in the US. Seeing every one else's plans just make me sick. The big three providers are honestly ripping people off and making excuses for it.

Just think of how often you (wish) to access the internet. And how many places you usually go have wifi. If you can access wifi most of your day you can go with a lower data plan.

I use about 100MB a month since my phone is always on WiFi at work and at home.

I almost never stream audio and video while on 3G.

100mb is NOTHING on an Android device. You'll blow through that really quickly.

If I were you, take a look at the HTC One X, the Galaxy Nexus and/or the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S 3. While the S2 is a good smartphone, it's downside (to me anyway) is the screen resolution - yes, it's a large format screen (4.6-something I think?) but the 800x480 screen resolution is what kills it. It's so "2010".

I was on a 500mb plan, and I was getting quite close to using it all up. Then I bumped up to a 1GB plan. For most people, this will be plenty. I typically used up around 4-700mb/mo. Keep in mind, I take public transit to work almost every day, so I surf and stream music for about an hour. I have push email/IM and all my accounts synch'd up. I don't use my work's wifi because of blocked ports.

LaterZ!
Darren!!

I would go with the Galaxy Nexus (I currently have it).
the galaxy s2, still a good phone, is now old (its comparable to the iPhone 4 not 4S).

100mb on any real phone (not a blackberry) is nothing. I use 4gb a month and am on WiFi half the day. These new phones are constantly syncing emails, photos, etc. and that is where the data use comes from. Plus if your gonna use facebook its not some mobile version its full FB so all the pics are good quality (more data use!)

I just got the galaxy nexus. Really great phone (especially compared to my blackberry storm 1) and I'm glad I got this compared to the S2 LTE or similar.

A little choked that rogers just released the HTC one X today though... Pre order was supposed to be until the 30th then the phone was going to be released just before summer but not it seems it is out today according to my rogers news letter thing. But it says it has a dual-core instead of the quad-core all the previews are showing... weird...

This is the usage that my phone sees. I never stream audio or video and use my phone to surf while commuting, maps when on foot and occasional facebooking / mobile banking / google / whatever.

I have wifi at home and at work.

I average about 300MB / mnth.

I am also about 300mb/mo.

My phone goes on wifi at home and during the day I am using 3G since it doesn't like to connect to the wifi at work for some reason. And I use it to look up stuff on the net while I am out. But no video/music streaming for me either.

I don't use any data on my phone... Sure, it's a pain sometimes if I'm out and want to check emails or NASIOC, or look up an address or something, but I deal with it. Most of the time I'm at home or at school, both of which have WiFi. Starbucks also has free WiFi, and they're almost everywhere. If I go somewhere, I check the map before I leave, and I have a GPS and map software on my phone that has a good chunk of the Lower Mainland downloaded onto it. I can't zoom in all the way (I haven't bothered downloading all the tiles yet), but it does its job for getting me around. If that fails, I can still read a map (which I carry in my car).

All in all, saving the $10-$20 a month it costs for data is worth more than the "convenience" of having internet access wherever I go, especially with WiFi at home and school, and all the hotspots around the city. Last I checked, Shaw is also planning on rolling out city-wide WiFi coverage, so as soon as that goes in it'll be pretty much pointless to have data while in the city (depending on how much Shaw charges).

search Craigslist for cellphone plans. Most of em will give a 4S for cheap. These are unadvertised business plans

Or you could just buy the phone outright... Do you have a plan with telus or bell? If so, talk to them and see if they'll let you upgrade your phone and renew your contract without needing a data plan... They offered that to me a few months back.
