**SORRY THE TITLE SHOULD SAY **REPLACE FUEL FILTER**

hey guys iv owned my 2004 wrx for about 3 years now and put about 90,000 miles on her and i was wondering if i should change my fuel filter. i only put gas from places like shell in the tank. am i causing my engine/performance any harm by not doing this by now?

From what I recall from the old days, when a fuel filter gets filled and kinda clogged, the first thing affected and noticeable without a log or gauge is idle, that's what changes first too.
Those cars in Eastern Europe also tended to stall, when the filter was full.
When you replaced the filter in those days, a rusty slosh would come out of it.
No such thing ever happened with my WRX, when I changed the filter.

So change it, this may also extend the life of your fuel pump, not that they're known to fail anyway.

Update: My filter looked fine after 120k. It could have been a slight clog but nothing that would have probably make a 5% difference. I replaced it with a 225lph and new filter in the kit.
