I second this, like I mentioned above. My point is, buying an STi makes a statement, that you want the highest level, focused performance car. So why buy anything that will only lessen its performance from the factory? Just doesn't make sense to me :S

If you know it's just for looks, then that's fine. Just go with it, and ignore the comments.

J_maher, I understand that but if he has been around so long then he should know that giving advice, even though he is right, is pointless because people are going to do what they want with their money! Just like everyone told me I was wasting 5 grande on selling my 09 and buying a 12 but instead I just bought it because I wanted it haha. I was just trying to say that giving advice now days is pointless on here lol

I agree . However, having the badge is more important to some than performance.

I have not been big on looks in the past. My former DD is a '99 Miata that is far from a show room queen. It is my track car and performance definitley comes first. That's why it has coilovers that cost half as much as the car did (well almost). With WRX, I've only had it a month and I'm actually interested in it's looks . Ill probably do things like a front lip and wheels for looks over performance. It is my DD/kid hauler, so performance isn't top priority. The miata would not get those vanity treatments (well maybe a big center racing stripe ).

Only reason anyone would be offended by the things he said would be that they know he's right and they hate to admit it.

To Supa, seriously bro, why go through putting massive 265 tires on 9.5" wheels when, like you said, DD your car? I mean, that kind of meat on the wheels just isn't necessary on anything with less than 500whp. Yeah they look great an all, but I would just find it hard to justify.

Also, like he said, coilovers for $1000 aren't worth the weight in metal they're made of. Have you seen the GTWorx + RCE shock and spring kit? Much better choice for your car that would actually increase performance.

End of the day, it's your car so do what you want. I just find a hard time understanding, as I'm sure Scott and Garrett feel the same, as to why you would buy, like they said, a pure performance car and then bother with exterior mods that would only hurt performance. Why wouldn't you just get a base WRX if you wanted a car that looks the same and you aren't interested in its performance or in tracking it? I'm also, by no means, bashing your car at all, just asking some simple questions and offering advice..
My lap times around the track are faster on my 265/35 PSS's. Just sayin'

^^^ This People. Why even bother complaining about what you don't like? End the end person "a" is going to do what ever they want to their car regardless of anyone views on their car. If you don't like what they did fine. No reason to go on and on over what you don't like. If we all like what everyone else did 100% of the time everybody would be a clone and that would be one very boring place to reside.

Its Persons "a" money. They earned it and can spend however they see fit.

You're right.

He should have gone for the 285's on 10" wheels...

This is after installing Ground Controls on my car. I went with 7" 325lb springs in the front and 8" 325lb springs in the rear. The perches are at max bottom front and rear. I like the height of the front, but the rear is too high and the car is slightly raked. It looks like I'll be ordering 7" springs for the rear today...

When I was t-boned in my wagoon, It took 9 or 10 weeks, during the winter, while I was stuck in crummy fwd rentals/loaners. Thankfully, we had one final snow of the season about a week after I got the car back.

Here's a sideview shot showing my rake:

Hi guys, this is my first post. This is my 11' base model WRX hatch. Right now it's running a full stage 2 set up, eibach springs, xxr 18x8.75 +35.. Before I bought these wheels, I went through this entire thread to see this exact color pairing, and was surprised that there were no 11/12' swp hatchbacks with the black chromium... I love the set up, I'm not crazy about the super-stretch look, or the real beefy stance, so I'm very happy with the way this came out

Had 22 Subarus out yesterday, it was a fun meet. A few 2011s. Of course I had the only red hatch out there.
