Default USDM to JDM motor.

I'm looking to the community to help me out with something. I don't know if anyone has seen my post in the vehicle for sale classifieds but I recently bought an 05 WRX, spun a rod bearing 3 weeks later, bought a short block, rebuilt, spun a bearing again (bad USED short block [the seller and I worked out something but I opted not to do it as it I'd still have to buy new parts..again]). I am looking to buy a JDM motor my roommate found on eBay, comes with compression check results, a 30 day warranty, etc. Has turbo and everything. Will there be any type of modification I have to do or will this be basically a plug and play? Also, my car is an 05 WRX wagon, 83xxx miles w/ good tranny and almost 2 grand in performance parts. What is a ROUGH guess as to how much I can get for it for sale? I'm frustrated with car and just want to move on and buy a new one.

first question is what kind of JDM motor are you looking at?

post a link we can help.

if its a EJ20G-K-H-R its a no go. if its an EJ207 or EJ205 it may work.

post a link.

Here is the link. Also, would this motor work with my ACT flywheel and CC stage 2+ clutch?

Honestly, I wouldn't put a 97 motor in your 05 if I were you, even if it is jdm. The clutch and flywheel would work because the only determining factor for which clutch and flywheel to use if what transmission you're using. Keeping same trans? Keep same clutch and flywheel.

I did research and that motor has about as much horsepower as my cobalt base. I'll keep searching for a decent motor and continue to try and sell my wrx as is for now.

that is a late EJ20G the intake manifold has a different bolt pattern than the EJ205 you have.

in short it wont work.
