Default hella supertones vs. sickspeed electric blast tone

i'm was looking online for matching blue hella supertones for my 2012 wrb wrx and i came across these sickspeed electric blast tones. i found the blue hella supertones for around $70 and the sickspeed's are $45. they seem comparable to the hella supertones considering they're both 118db's. does anyone know anything about the sickspeeds as far as how they sound compared to the hella supertones? i've put the two links below so they can be compared.

OR.

You could get these:

Amazon.com: Solleci Supertone Dual Round Horn Kit: AutomotiveAmazon.com: Solleci Supertone Dual Round Horn Kit: Automotive

And paint them whatever color you'd like. They have a different frequency than Hellas and in fact sound a bit deeper. I have them on MY11 WRX right now. I'm also going to buy a pair of Hellas to run with them.

Heh, it's like 7-10 small screws and spray paint. I used 4 coats of Krylon and 2 clear and it's lasted 2 PA winters just fine.

looks like Hella makes wiring kt for $35 and also a seperate mounting kit for lil more dough. Stick with Hella's cuz they are Higher Qual and proven. Paint any color you want

I painted mine with 3 coats of pink Montana paint, then clear coated them. They're holding up rad. The brackets on mine are pieces of sheet metal stacked ontop of eachother with holes drilled in them, and they're bolted to the cross member, they make it a tight fit with my grill, and I could change this by using one bracket instead of 3, but i like the way it looks. As far as wiring goes, I plugged the stock harness in to one prong on each horn, and then used the other prong and seperately grounded them out. if I knew it was that easy, I would've bought them ages ago. All in all, I bought them used, for $30 and donated 2 hours of time to paint and mount them.

Will post pics if you would like.

The Amazon ones look like knock offs.
Hellas are really easy to install, I originally installed mine after painting them white, it was simple, I just extended one of the factory horn wires, and screwed them into excisting holes that were already drilled with threads.
Then, I took them off and repainted them gold to match my wheels.
Then, just tonight actually, I took them back apart and wired them with a relay. Yes they are louder. No it's not a huge difference.
If you want to wire them with a relay, it's fairly simple, just a pain to fish the wires through.
All you need is some wire, and an inline fuse, with some butt connectors/solder and quick disconnects.

yeah i think i'm going to go with the hella supertones for the sheer fact that everyone says they're legit, i'd be pissed if i bought knock offs and they didn't sound as good for only $20 less. i'll just suck it up and pay the extra to buy them in blue :/.

They sound better than the Hella's. Hella's have a higher frequency, whereas these have a lower frequency. For actual usage the Solleci's are better due to the fact that it is more audible to all drivers. Saying horns "look" like knock-offs isn't accurate. The horns look that exact same, the only difference is is sound.

To be clear, Supertones have 2 frequencies (375 and 500hz), and it looks as though the Sollecis do too (530 and 680hz?) which would make them much higher sounding, combined with their higher DB rating. I'd like to hear the difference in person though, as I for one think I prefer the low and high hella sound, it's more beefy.

I really don't get why you are so set on buying them in blue. Buy the ones for $40-50 that I linked you to and spray paint them! It would maybe take an extra hour of your install time depending on how much a perfectionist you are.

yeah i could do that but to get the wrb color spray paint it would cost me just as much, if not more, to do it myself. if i'm paying the same amount of money for both why not have someone else do the work for me?

If you are mounting them in your grill, then you could get the closest spray paint color possible for $4. No one would be able to tell the color difference but you, of course. Have you checked to see if Duplicolor has your color out yet?

Well, I finally got around to making the bracket and buying both sets of horns. It is definitely worth it to get BOTH horns as the sound that is produced is 10000000x better than any stock horn. DC drivers actually react when I honk now =)
