I am still catching up, so I hope this hasn't been decided yet, I think a boot underneath and a gate at the console would look good, like the one on the ferrari 328 gts

Custom boots are being stiched up for both the shifter and emergency brake. The material will be close to the fabric on the Sparco steering wheel.

Just an FYI to everyone - Danny suffered a ruptured ulcer that knocked him off his feet a little over a week ago. He's recovering pretty well but its zapped his energy and I'm sure he's having a hard time keeping his urges to work on something at the same pace his body will allow.

For those of you that have the same faith and trust in Christ as I do, please add Danny and his family to your prayer list.

Thank you,
Marty

Wow, a ruptured ulcer really sounds like no fun at all.

Default The car will not be going to WBM (this year)

Danny doesn't know I'm posting up his mug but here's what he looked like 2 weeks ago after he passed out and fell smack on his face from his ruptured ulcer. It was the size of a baseball and actually almost killed him. Luckily his wife found him and had him rushed to the hospital where this pic was taken.

It light of his condition, although recovering well, we will not be taking my car to the WBM, nor attending this year. I do not want a frantic thrash to complete my car on time interfering with his healing.

The car will get done when it gets done. I'd sorta like to see Danny survive for additional TR-42 projects instead of being labeled as owning the car that put him under.

Glad your back and looking forward to more updates.

Is that an OEM 6 speed? Anything done to it internally?

Stock from a 2007 STI, Possume-Bourne locking tube being installed to make it constant FWD (which will power my rear wheels). If I remember right, that "kit" was about $900 New Zeland

Default TR-42 visit today

I had business in the area so today I stopped in to see Danny and my car. There is a bunch of little stuff to do and Danny is back on it, starting with the trans.

I sat in the car and although I'm 5'10" and 195 lbs I had plenty of room.

When it comes time to tackle the exhaust it will be interesting - look how close the down pipe stubs are to the rear of the car!

Nice. I figured that kit was a pretty penny. You look to fit nicely in there with room to spare.

And that exhaust seems like it will be a PIA. Can't wait to see this finished.

The Trans conversion kit looks great but another $1000 can hurt. Do you think it was still better route than welding up the center diff?

I forget the exact explanation given to me back when I was considering my options but the end result was that the locking tube was a fail safe method with a track record of extreme duty performance in rally cars by Possume-Bourne.
