Haha! You still have more patience than I would for that. I put some silver aluminum window screen on there. It has stopped stuff bending the fins but really small stones still seem to get through and clog up the passages in the fins.

How do you guys accumulate so many bent fins? 57k on mine and there's only a handful of bent fins.

107k on mine, daily driving on the highway does it I think.

Window screen is a brilliant idea! That'll be next weekend.

Highway mileage probably explains it I guess. Good work on bending them back though!

Interesting... maybe sometimes your car is travelling so fast, the rocks n stuff on the road just get sliced by the fins.

^ that and your car has like 40,000 kms

I heard that putting screens on the hood scoop can reduce airflow like 30%... but who knows that could be BS

Grillcraft has a mesh grill for the hood scoop that matches the factory grill mesh. I might try that route over the window screen.

I'm pretty sure it's all in my head but it definitely feels more responsive on the throttle when I'm in S or S# in boost. Now I'm thinking intercooler sprayer... Lol

If he goes fast enough it cuts through the fabric of space time. All you need is 88 Mph.

No bent fins on my front mount either. Front mounts are constructed differently and hence more durable.

That looks perfect! Where did you get the mesh?

I've been reading on front mounts, they do seem to be much more durable. Bar and plate construction is more durable than tube and fin construction.

Wondering if the covers would fit the new 08-12? Looks like it should.

It was "tested" by parking the car for 15 minutes once normal temps were reached and start driving, writing down the temperature numbers of the TMIC at the start and how long it took to cool down to as cold as it would get, on a 77*F ambient day and compared with doing the same thing without the screen... I wouldn't put a screen in the hood scoop but putting the screen onto/into the TMIC so that it's touching is OK...
