We had a Legacy RS, 5 speed dog box. Kept breaking front crown wheel and pinions. A common occurrence the faster you go. It also depends how hard you are going to drive it and how much horsepower.

The setup we had in our GC8 (and later in the legacy) was an 06 6 speed with DCCD with a plated front LSD and motec centre diff controller. Worked brilliantly
I will be using the 5 speed for the time being and I a really excited to try out the Modena front diff.
Getting the car going this year is priority then I will look into changing things up in the drivetrain once I know exactly what I want to change.

Ran into a few snags over the past week. I do have to move the harness bar up as mine is a little low. Still find it interesting that it would be fine for the WRC but not for Rally America.

I also am going to add a few more bars from the bottom of the main hoop to meet with the rear back stays and some supports for the rear strut towers. I just received some 1.25 Dom tubing for those.

I am also off to get some steel for a few gussets I would like to add, and look for someone with in town that can get me material for polycarbonate windows. Not so much to save weight, but to make getting in the back to weld/service struts easier.

The only other snag I have is with the new pedal box my throttle cable isn't long enough. What is the longest throttle cable subaru makes? Or does anyone have a custom throttle cable solution?
