So a Soldier in my unit just happened to have a Go Pro Hero2 Only thing is, he doesn't have the suction cup :/ I'll be trying to find a way to mount it tomorrow. It has adhesive mounts but I don't want to use those since I'm sure they're stick and stay and they aren't mine. A got a helmet from a buddy. I got the tires mounted and balanced today for $63...not bad for AAFES. So here is my list of things to take to the Ring:

-Helmet
-Chair
-Sunglasses
-Sunblock
-Headphones so I can record without music blaring
-1qt of oil just in case...(knock on wood)
-Camera
-Cooler with ice and drinks

Am I missing anything that is useful AT the track? I remember seeing a decent checklist somewhere but it's been a long week at work and honestly, I don't feel like looking. I just want to drink with my friend Jack and play COD

add preston: 04 STi, he will leave with me as well.

armysoldierboy, i have to gopros, both of which have suction cups, i only need one, so i can let you borrow my other one. recording devices are prohibited, so i just hook it up after passing the cones at the start. helmet is not required, but i've always worn one so i will wear it lol.

so just to confirm, 10-11 at the ring amirite?

One thing I have brought with me after my first track day is a 1/2" ratchet and a 19mm socket to tighten the lug nuts after the first few laps, just in case. I would recommend topping off coolant the day of/day prior, same with oil. A tire pressure gauge is also a good idea, although I'm honestly not sure where the nearest place to fill is there. For the helmet, get a nomex head sock. You can wash the sock, not the helmet. Plus fire sucks. My two cents on the whole thing.

For the GoPro, I have adhesive mounts I'm not planning on using, I'll bring one or two if you want to use them. Like jacket_man said, recording devices are prohibited, so use at your own risk.

<borat>I am excite!</borat> I believe myself, wrxfr3ak227 and Goe are headed up tomorrow in the afternoon, good nights sleep and all that. Awesome to see another STi in the mix.

I need to find a way to record since I'll probly only get one or two laps in after everyone said they measure the exhaust db I was going to try mounting to the inside of the back windshield. How much time would I have to turn around and turn it on? My back windows are so dark they may not see it way back there.

I just bought a jug of 50/50 coolant so I'll bring that for anyone who might need it. I can bring some tools also, I have tons of deep sockets, ratchet wrenchs etc.

How many laps do y'all plan on running and how much $$ should I bring? I figure preload the esso card for about 3 tanks worth, bring 6gal of gas (I have 3 2gal cans), 40euro for lunch and dinner, maybe another 40 for souvenirs etc...I'm getting that damn sticker at least lol

I might

GREAT TURN OUT GUYS!!! If it wasn't for it being so busy I think we could have all met up. I saw all of you at some point in the trip so that is good. As for the next trip lets try for a little more dedication and leave much earlier! This can help us all meet up in one area and at least roll a lap as a group, that would be sick! My buddy Jan tooks some picture and I will post them as soon as I receive them.

Start throwing out ideas and suggestions people. I am thinking drive morning of 30th knock some laps out then Either hotel or parking lot camp/party then knock out more laps sunday until everyone is done or wrecked then head home sunday evening.

To save money camping is better. Unless more people commit to hotel rooms and we pack in 3-4 guys per room to spread the room cost between dudes. Last summer the hotel jn koblenz was 90 euro and split 3 ways. But thats still the cost of a lap.

I'm down, although I would rather drive up the night of the 29th myself. I do enjoy a nice rest before my laps.

I understand. But us married guys can usually get one night away (atleast me). I figure we hit the ring hard starting after lunch on sat. Then run till they close. Then rest that night and hit hard right when they open till noon or so then head home.

Still looking to lock down some hockring laps. And planning a stelvio drive in early august

Good point, I didn't think of that, being without a significant other at the moment. As for hockenheim, I'm hoping they get around to throwing some touristfahrten days on the schedule, that would be uncool if not.

You can always ride shotgun and still get a great experience out of it without dropping money on laps and getting the sti there. It helps having dedicated camera men not worrying about getting their own laps in as well

It's going to be a min before I can hit anything.
-$1400 overdraft
-$700 tires for truck
-$700 new brake setup
-$300-400 for new rear camber/strut mounts
-120ish euro for alignment

That's at LEAST 5-6 months. My truck will finally be paid off after July ($450/mo) I still need to pay off the damn star card though. My wife makes 800/2 wks so that helps too.

F*CK!! I knew it was too! It was late when I uploaded it lol *Fixed*

Oh ya, KNS brakes are cheaper on certain parts, just depends on what you order from www.Cygnusperformance.com. Geoff is the guy that runs/owns it and he is willing to put packages together and will ship to APO's

If the noise went away, then I might still consider them. That squealing was a total turn off :/
