Default Maf compatability

Hey i have a 91 ej22t and I'm getting a air flow sensor cel I was wondering what my options are

are you using the metal hitachi? or the green labeled plastic maf?
the green labeled plastic unit is from 1993+ Impreza or Legacy, 1.8,2.2, some 2.5

Sorry, only other early Legacies with the metal Hitchi MAF will work.

'89-'91 Turbos and some non-turbos

'92-'94 only turbo Legacies - all the non turbos had phased over to the plastic JECS MAF.

No, not specifically. Subaru was moving the whole line from Hitachi based ECUs to JECS ECUs. The metal MAF is for the 'old' Hitachi systems.

The normally aspirated engines migrated to JECS and continued on to the second gen Legacy, while the Legacy turbo was left on the Hitachi system until it died in '94 (with the first gen Legacy).
