Now if I only had the funds to do a TFE-731 swap in the bed of the Baja. 3,650 LBS of thrust would almost be enough to go vertical.

What rims are you running? They look good on the Baja.

I will be taking the same route as you are except I will never pay anyone to do the work. I will do all of it myself.

The a/t driveshaft out of the baja is not only a good idea but it is a must for the 6 speed STI swap.

Your final drive must match as well.

As for the dccd did you use the coin tray in the center console to install the dccd switches? They make a snap in solution by using the heater switch surround in that spot.

Take pictures, don't keep that knowledge of what has/hasn't been done all bottled up.

Post a time slip in the 1/4 as well. I have always been curious of that in a baja.

Did you install dampers?
Is it water tight?
What metal did you use; aluminum or steel?
How much did it cost?

BTW Good job, looks clean
Hey man, sorry I did not take more pictures during the process.
I used 5x8 diamond plate aluminium I picked up from a warehouse that sells metal in Brooklyn. I already had a template from the marine board I tried to use the first time but it warped. Cut it with a jigsaw. I used aluminium bars I got at home depot for support underneath and just bolted it down since I really don't need it to open vertically.

This is a sick drawing by the way, I think the Baja would look great like this. Very unique.

Well doing the work your self makes it cheaper for sure, how ever I don't have the time or the experience. If the fact that I take it to a professional shop seems less legitimate then your build am sorry. I am glad that you then ask for my knowledge. The DCCD is not installed yet and I have not figured out were it is going yet. I am droping the car off this week. Since I also started this thread in 7/06 all the mods I have done are posted. My best pass in the 1/4 is 13.7@105. Have a nice day and stay positive everyone!

Laugh if you want, but this was a free mod and it works EXTREMELY well.

Normally I was datalogging 120-150 degree IAT's. Most I can get it up to now at a dead stop is 91 degrees. The temp drops 10+ degrees in 3 blocks @ 30 mph. Holds a steady 12 degrees above ambient while moving.

Best free mod ever!

For those wondering, it is an old optimum nutrition 6 pound whey protein canister. I cut the bottom part of the snorkus off (in the wheel well) and sealed it up with gorilla pvc tape. The lid has a 3 inch airtight hole cut in it and attaches to the snorkus. You can place your hand inside the ram air part that attaches to the radiator mount and feel the air being drawn in.

I am still in disbelief at how well it works.

I had my local custom shop make me the lift since no one could find a lift that fit our vehicle.

I just took the after lift pictures. It's funny that the pictures don't show much..but then, it is only 2". They didn't want to go any higher because they didn't want to put too much stress on the CV joints. It sure feels higher when driving it.
