Default Probably the Biggest Project of aeion's Life | FORD MODEL A CONTENT | NOW RUNNING

About six months ago, my parents and I took ownership of my grandfather's 1931 Ford Model A. You're probably thinking "yeah, yeah, another goofball that's going to take some meh-condition Model A and make a rat rod/street rod thing out of it." Normally, you'd probably be right, but I'm going to lay down some statistics that will change things a little bit.

The story:

My grandfather bought this car as the second owner in 1967 when my father was just 14 years old. All those years ago when he bought the car, it only had 38,460 original miles. He drove it very little and had the motor rebuilt less than 100 miles before he put it away in his garage only to stay in the same spot for over 30 years. The previous owner had the car stored in his garage for an unknown amount of time as well. Needless to say, this car has seen more time in a garage than on the road.

Present day:

Here's the interesting part about the car. Right now, today, the car has 38,815.5 original miles on it. So, this car has seen less than 500 miles since 1967. Also, it has a "freshly" rebuilt motor .

Now, since it has been in a garage for so long, the tires feel like they're made of stone, the paint was EXTREMELY faded, and it will probably take some work to get it running again, but that's why I'm making this thread.

The project:

This car is completely original, fell into our ownership with plenty of extra parts, had several options, and has very little body damage for its age. The car came from Nebraska, so it had a moderate amount of surface oxidation and some surface rust with one small rust hole, but otherwise the body is in very good shape. We plan to keep it original and just like it is, just clean it up, get it operational and road worthy again, and just drive it and show it. We're not going to restore it, just revive it because it's got such low miles and has such a great story.

Now, on to the pictures...

The day that it came to Texas...
