Never done it, but from everything I have read, they should be the same.

IIRC, even the cars with the 5th injector had them disabled from the factory.

All of them, even basic td04 wrx, had the wiring for 5th injector.

All of the wiring is identical from 1992 to 1996, pre K

Default 02/06 wrx,sti swap

We have a 2002 wrx that we want to put a 2006 sti motor in. Can n e one tell me what id have to do with the wiring ? If possible id like to "NOT" rip out the harness. Will it plug right in to the 06 motor ? Do i have to splice and change some wires or buy n e adapters ? The easiest way would be great. I really dont wana pull all the wiring if i dont have to. Thank u.

You need a whole STI harness, ECU, DBW pedals, all the modules etc

what's the difference between the 2 engines... you might have to get an STI ECU for that engine aswell, no? Someone's tellin me about an issue about my swap I want to make...

I have a 3 pin slot ECU 6S for my 96-98 EJ20G... but they told me the ECU is not the right one for my engine.... its for a EJ20K... but honestly, I don't have a bloody clue... so make sure your ECU will be compatible.... or a one you get IS compatible with the engine....

All 4-plug EJ20 turbo ECUs run on the same harness...
