Nope, but i did get another new throwout bearing installed after it started chirping again a month after the last replacement.
Hasn't started back up yet, i really hope it's sorted out now.

Naw, no luck for me : (...the clutch makes that rubbing sound I mentioned a lot still, I haven't felt the pedal vibration in a while but I haven't been pushing it much lately.

is there a TSB on this or does it depend on dealership's discretion?

Default clutch vibration

bump.

I started having the same issue with the clutch vibrating yesterday. Happened today too. The vibration is subtle but it's enough to feel something isn't right. I'm north of 60, it's still chilly here (30s F and snow yesterday :0 ) The winter is much colder so I'm not sure it's the weather.

I have a 2008 wrx with just over 60k miles. It's mostly highway miles so I don't really use the clutch much. I also don't beat on it usually but I did make a few passes at high RPMs yesterday. I didn't rev it high today and I still felt the vibration on my commute home.

Just wondering if anyone has a precise reason for this and a solution.

Thanks.

Just wanted to let you all know that my '11 wrx just started having both the squealing noise and the pedal vibration at 3k miles in 85 degree weather. It went away after a while (I'm assuming it was from pumping the clutch). I already had my car scheduled to go into the dealership this Friday for its first oil change. I will see if they can do anything. Thanks everyone for the information, now I at least have an idea what to tell them.

I don't have a squealing noise, but the clutch pedal started vibrating today. Car has 5,500 miles. It was about 72 degrees today. I'm going to the dealership tomorrow anyway, so I'll see what they say...

Has anyone had this sorted out for good yet?
I'm on my third bearing now and it already needs to be replaced a month or two after they put it in.

Ive had a really annoying vibration now for about 4k miles. It was bad at first, but now has gotten a lot better on its own. It was a constant vibration. Didn't get any worse after a hard pull or anything. I did notice that it was worse when cold though. After about 15 minutes of driving it gets better. The only real time i notice now is when I rev matching, or if i rev it up over 3k in neutral and push the clutch in and out, but it's only at the top inch or so of travel. I don't have any time right now to bring it in to get checked out so i'll just deal with it for a while longer.

2011 WRX same intermittent issue, I have not found a way to reproduce it yet, but then again i have not really tried...It has happened to me 3 times so far in the last week. Car has 3400 miles on it, drive about 100 miles a day thru the week. What i can say is that it was 90+ degrees outside (Tampa) and the car was plent warm as it had been running for at least 30 minuts prior to the occurences. I have the first oil change scheduled for this friday and like everyone else here I will mention it to the service department...along with showing them this thread. Will post update if i gain any good info.

I'm on my 4th bearing now and the chirping is back already.
Btw, I found a generic clutch diagnostic guide, and according to it the shuddering could easily be caused by a seized throwout bearing. The first time I had mine replaced it was seized and the dealer installed a whole new clutch because it was worn to the rivets on one side.
The shuddering hasn't come back since, but that's probably because i've had the bearing replaced every 6 weeks.

I guess the bottom line is, if you have shuddering in the clutch pedal, it could be rather serious.

Default My 2009 WRX Clutch story

Hopefully this is the right place for this. I brought my 2009 WRX in for an oil change and to have them check out some issues. One was that on some mornings I hear a whine when I push in the clutch. It only lasts till the end of the street but I wanted it looked at. The dealer told me the clutch was worn and did not go into gear right. They said I need a new clutch and since it is a ware part it was not covered under warranty. My clutch has felt the same since I got and I do NOT ride the clutch. My last car lasted 13 years on the same clutch. Anyway I called SOA and they told me this was not normal. They asked me to take it to another dealer for a second opinion and unless the dealer has proof that I had abused the car it would be covered. I brought it to the dealer I had purchased the car from and they also said the clutch was to stiff and need to be replaced but that it would be covered under warranty.
The point of my post is that my clutch never felt different (my wife who does not drive it often agreed it felt the same when we got it) Anyone else have an issue like this? I also want to say the SOA was great! After I called the called me back a few days later to follow up and have been very proactive. I know there are a lot of horror stories about SOA and dealers but Colonial Subaru and SOA have been great so far.

I will follow up after my clutch is replaced.

sorry for the long post

Dan

Glad you are still in your warranty. Mine expired on Monday and my TOB is already starting to squeak again and my clutch pedal is squeaking. Not to mention the stiff pedal. I am on my 3rd TOB and 2nd clutch. Guess I'll just have to live with it all now.

Throw out bearing is the squealing noise. Mine does it to. My throw out bearing squeaks my clutch pedal squeaks. My clutch vibrates like there is hot spots in the pressure plate but it does it like once every two days. Oh and my clutch pedal is stiff as hell. Clutch doesn't slip or anything so I guess it's just a crappy clutch assembly. But drive very short drives in the car and there's lots of speed bumps where I live so I'm constantly on the clutch. I'm going to drop it off at the dealer monday morning and see what they say

Just wondering if anyone could give an update?

My car has always made the squeaking sound since day 1. It only lasts a couple of minutes (a little longer on humid days), but it always went away, so I never sweated it.

I just recentely started getting the pedal vibration as well. It will only happen right after a quick acceleration and only lasts for a couple moments...but it never happened before, so I know it is not normal.

I am pretty sure my clutch is wearing out (40k, mostly city driving) and I have an appt set at my dealer for this coming Monday. I will let you guys know what happens.

Got my car back a couple of days ago. My pedal vibration must've been due to my t.o.b's going bad, because now that they've been replaced, the clutch pedal feels good as new.

I'm having same problem as OP.

Noise from TOB when misty outside straight from the time I got the car.

Had vibration after hard pull every time.

Had clutch+PP+TOB replaced, and now vibration only happens when cold.

I really think the TOB Subaru is putting in is defective even when new. New TOB they put in started making noise when misty out within 1000miles. This is a sign of bad lubrication to me.

Based on all the posts, the vibrations seems to be related to some kind of alignment of parts..
I notice mine vibrates more after jacking up the car.

Other people notice after hard breaking, or hard acceleration.. or even changing the shift lever(which is extremely strange to say the least).

All these events are causing something to move.. Especially acceleration will put a twist torque on the entire car.

My TOB is making noise when I first start the car in the morning only when the clutch is disengaged. I wasn't worried but I'm getting a burning clutch smell after driving now so time to head to the dealer. I think maybe my clutch isn't completely reengaging because the burning smell happens even when I'm driving in the same gear. It's most noticeable when I stop at a red light of after I shut the car off.

i brought a 9 page list of threads to the dealer. i cant pretty much get my car to do it on demand when driving hard, except when i bring it to the dealer, i took a half hour drive just thrashing on my car with the service manager and couldnt get it to do anything. makes me look bad. it seems like this is a big enough problem where it should be a recall.

I've had the exact same problem, very strange vibration through the clutch pedal after hard acceleration, particularly after reaching high rpms
