For future reference, in Windows 7 you can use "snipping tool" to quickly take a screenshot of a window or arbitrary area. In OS X, command-shift-4 will let you select an area, or cmd-shift-4 and then spacebar to select an entire window. The image will be saved to the desktop.

They are interchangeable on the Forester, unknown if they are interchangeable on the Impreza.

Subarupartswarehouse just confirmed that they shipped my part, however it shows on their confirmation that I was given only the one coupon. When I log into my account and view my order it shows that I got both coupon. The charge hasn't hit my CC account yet. I hope they charged the original price since I didn't consent to a price change.

My charges are showing on my CC already as posted, NOT pending, with both discounts applied but no email for shipping. When I log in it says "Processing" even though everything shows as "Status:In Stock". I'm not gonna call or email so it isn't brought to their attention. I just hope having my VIN with a few random parts for an '09 WRX doesn't cause them to manually review anything.

As for aftermarket oil filters, I've been running the Mobil1 M1-104 with good results.

I'm not especially loyal to M1. I just got an oil+filter deal at a good price. Factory fill sample is in the mail and I plan to get the M1 0W20 analyzed as well. I believe many are seeing high Fe counts (across many engines) with M1, and there's endless debate about this on various forums. Nobody seems to know why. Plan A was a PureOne filter and Pennzoil Platinum, but I had to make do with what was on the shelf.

It dosen't matter if the filter is listed for the '12 Impreza or the Forester as long as you get part # 15208AA160 and not 15208AA130. The Forester is the only model that can use either filter.

BTW, thanks for the link. I just got done ordering a three pack. They're shipping from the state I live in, so hopefully I'll have them by this Friday when I plan to do my first oil change.

Good to hear. I started a thread a few weeks ago asking for the correct M1 oil filter number becasue I had been told two different numbers. Anyway, I got completely bashed for even considering using anything but a Subaru filter.

You just gotta make sure that the filter has the correct check valve that the Subaru filters have.

M1, Bosch and PureOne have anti drainback valves. Unless OEM fanatics know why a particular filter is unsuitable, ignore them.

The OEM filters weren't too bad price-wise. They are about 7 bux at my dealer.

i think i paid 19.00 after tax for 2 filters, and 2 crush washers at the dealer. didn't seem too bad. I am probably going to go the fumoto valve route though, so only need 1 washer.

I researched a lot on the web about paint protective film and this 2 links helped me decide on getting one. may be this will nudge you more towards getting a paint protective film

a very good comprehensive review on another forum about paint protective films.

Man, I tried to attempt this today and FAILED horribly. Flathead and Butter knife was no good. There was not enough space. I was too scared with all the stuff I used to force anything without damaging something. What is this blackberry tool you used? Can you take a picture of it? I will probably be removing the housing more than once so it might be a good investment tool.

Also, if it was "super easy" to remove the housing can you do a picture or video of how it looks like. Therefore I can see where the clips are held. You can be the first person to document this. Wouldn't that be totally Awesome?? =P

I installed my fog lamps last-night in about 20min. All you need to do is remove the 2 front plastic clips and the 10mm bolt. Once those are out fold down the plastic cover to give access to the housing.

To remove the fog lamp housing I pushed the clips that hold it in place from the back side. (No tools needed for that ) It should come out very easily.

Good Luck,

Remove the clips that hold the front of the fender liner plastic, reach in and push the tabs on the fog light housing that hold it into the bumper.

I didn't have to remove any clips, they came off by just a little pry (the blackberry tool I used was a tiny plastic piece used to pry housing apart) to get my fingers around them & a little pull. I don't have pix, but search for a post on here from HinGurl... it was a while ago but she put pix up.

Edit: maybe it wasn't her but I found this.

I just took mine off, surprisingly easy. No the chrome trim doesn't change anything. Just pry along the top(3 clips) gently and you can pull the whole cover out with your hand.

Now I'm gonna apply my lamin x cover
It's easier to get your finger in around the thin upper corner area & loosen from there.

I missed your reply earlier.
Thats a good price for a tint.
And that place is about 4 blocks from my house.
Jay's did our Accord a number of years ago and it held up very well.
What all did you get tinted for $250? All but windshield?

Good Luck,

I'll give this a try. I did look under this morning and seen the two plastic clips but no 10mm bolt. I have the Sport Premium. There is an extra hole on both sides with no bolt. Maybe on the Sport Prem no bolt? Ill try to take a pic when I get a chance.

Sure, I just find snipping tool more convenient. Launch it, drag a box, click save, done. Don't have to deal with cropping it later or remembering what key to hold to make it take a window instead of the entire screen.

Snipping tool is awesome, saves you a bunch of trouble with cropping screenshot images. You can also do a ALT + Printscreen to capture the window with focus.
