Default Complete Interior Redesign on 2011 WRX by JPM Coachworks

The first stage of my interior redesign by JPM Coachworks is complete on my 2011 WRX (Build Thread Here). We all know the interiors of our cars leaves a lot to be desired, so I decided to redo all of it.

The guys at JPM are awesome and their work is out of this world. Pictures barely do it justice.

For this round we did the following.
  • Black Alcantara Top Dash w/Red Stitching
  • Black Alcantara and Black Leather Gauge Hood w/Red Stitching
  • Black Alcantara and Black Leather Shift Boot w/Red Stitching
  • Black Alcantara and Black Leather E-Brake Boot w/Red Stitching
  • Black Alcantara and Black Leather Center Console Arm Rest with Extra Padding Added
  • Black Alcantara and Black Leather Door Arm Rests with Extra Padding Added
  • Stock Steering Wheel Wrapped in Black Alcantara and Black Leather w/Red Stitching

2nd Phase will be the following coming soon...
  • Removing 3M Carbon Vinyl
  • Color Matching Radio Bezel to Center Dash Trim
  • Black Alcantara Wrapped Center Console and Shifter Trim
  • Black Alcantara Roof
  • Black Alcantara A-Pillars
  • Sparco Milanos Done In Black Alcantara (center) and Black Leather (side bolsters) with Red Stitching
  • GT Spec D Steering Wheel in Black Alcantara and Black Leather w/Red 12 O'Clock Band
  • Top Door Piece in Black Alcantara to Continue Dash

Pictures of what has been completed so far.

Looks AWESOME man, wish I didn't live a billion miles away so I could get them to do that to mine! Can't wait to see the new steering wheel and the seats done. Where did you get your Milanos to if you don't mind me asking?

Picked them up used locally. It was an awesome deal considering I already knew at that point in time that I was going to strip them to match the interior.

Looks good and nice idea but what a pain in the arse to keep clean, even in your pictures there are already white specs all over the Alcantara that you will almost need to use a lint roller to get rid of and then it will just be back in 24 hours especially if you leave the windows down. Props on making it unique but I wouldn't want to deal with it.

It's actually really easy to keep clean. We just got back from the Wicked Big Meet in CT coming from Atlanta and that is how it looks without having a chance to clean it.

Saw this at WBM, pictures make this seem like a waste. What you are buying is the "FEEL" of a quality vehicle. - Can't say it any better than the owner of this car.

I will have this in my car in due time.

WOW! It looks fantastic, that's how it should come from the factory.

I'm in the process of almost the same thing, just not as extensive.

Picked this up from Japanparts, matches the steering wheel perfect, waiting on my other leather and red stitched parts to come in (shift boot, e-brake boot, elbow pads, center console cover, and gauge cluster with gauge pods). Went with leather instead of Alcantara, because my wife has a white cat and that hair is everywhere, I mean everywhere.

Part number: STS025500180

Very cool. That should look great. I had leather on the e-brake and shift boot before doing this combo. Loved it.

Yeah the entire feel of the interior when you just sit down is completely changed. It feels so much better now. You just want to stay in it and drive.

I have the ebrake/shift boot/armrest cover in black alacantra w/ red stitching. Love it but it does attract a little more dust and dirt.

I wonder if the dash fade over time with sun exposure?

One of the properties of Alcantara is that it doesn't fade with sun exposure. One of the owners had some A pillars wrapped that after two years was the same color as the new material in their shop.

Hey NSBcruiser- I have been looking to get this shift knob as well to complement the leather shift and e-brake boots that I installed. Do you like the quality of this knob (feel, weight, etc). Also- did it fit properly for you '10 WRX?

I love the knob, quality leather, perfect fit, and matches great. It makes the stock knob feel cheap, especially the plastic shift pattern on the stock knob. This knob has the shift pattern impressed in the leather.

The fit on my 2010 couldn't be better, the boot retainer fit perfect, great factory look (it is a Subaru part after all)

However, it is about 1/2 as heavy as the stock knob (I was surprised how heavy the stock knob was). That did change the feel when you shift, you have to give it a little more effort, but that did help with the side to side slop (center of gravity is lower now). Also, it is a little bit smaller overall.

I'm going to throw in a Kart Boy STS in with upgraded linkage bushings as soon as my other leather parts arrive, so I think the weight difference will go unnoticed once installed.

I'll grab some pictures ASAP and post them up to show the fit and finish. The baseball type red stitching gives you a nice grip on it also that stock photo doesn't give that knob any justice. The red stitching stands out more and us more exposed than in that picture.

It was expensive to get it from Japan to NY, but to me worth every penny, it will really finish off my interior (I'm going for "what it should have come like from the factory"...ie: it would be hard to tell that there are non-factory parts installed).

Wow I love this! I think it looks fantastic, i've always been a fan of the alcantara and have been toying with the idea of doing my seats if I end up with the cash.

That looks spectacular! I would love to do my dash someday but I think Ill probably be doing the e-brake, shifter boot, and armrest with extra padding first

I have spent a couple of days in the car now and it is amazing how much it changes the overall feel. It really does bring up the experience of the car significantly. Now the interior really feels like I am in a 400hp car (well...392whp technically!). I couldn't be any happier and I can't wait to get the rest of the list checked off.

That Alacantra must be hell to keep clean, but now that you have a show car its worth it!
