What wasn't said was the killer today:

Went to an 'open house' tour of the GMC assembly plant today. Pulled up for the first tour of the day and there are a bunch of union workers huddled around a tree; hiding in it's shade. They're all looking as I pulled up (Perrin DP, Invidia Q-300 CBE). ALL of them starring.

Once I exit the car and walk over to the check-in right next to them, with my UAW shirt on, they turn to stare at the bark on the tree trunk and muddle in-audible b/s.

That cracked me up

Actually got that a couple days ago, after I swapped out to some 15" rally rims and meaty tires. Don't recall seeing many hot wheels cars with much wheel gap though.

I was getting my car inspected in NJ. I pulled up and gave the guy my ID and other credentials.

Him: What kind of car is this?
(mind the answer is on insurance card, but my cars debaged so whatever)
Me: Subaru Impreza WRX
Him: Is it a 5 or 6 cylinder.
Me: , it's a 4 banger turbo
Him: Oh thats interesting.
Me:

Now honest, how many 5 cylinder cars are out there! I feel like they're not very common at all.

Yes, but I don't think anybody was doubting that a wagon or a 5-cyl could be fast. The conversation was more along the lines of commonality of the 5-cyl.

Yesterday I was asked if my Supertones were intakes for my twin turbo kit.
Him: "The other dealer (at the casino) said your car was quick, I figured you TT'd it."

Oh ... you got him! You sure did!

We simply cannot allow a conversation to proceed in anything other than a straight line.

Doesn't the new Focus come in a straight 5?

A friend of mine said my car looked like a Hot Wheels car when I had my winter wheels on. They're the 5 spoke '99 Forester wheels, if I painted them chrome, they would look a lot like Hot Wheel's wheels.

Anyone with a manufacturing plant nearby will understand. It's disturbing how much of that happens in the Chrysler plant here. ( they are making the Darts.$

In Europe the Focus ST used the same turbo I5 that the Volvo C30 in NA uses. None of the new Focus models use the I5 (none of them in NA at least). The 2013 Focus ST uses a 2.0L DI Turbo. In 2013 the Focus ST is a global performance model so the EU variant should get the same innards. The 2013 ST is a pretty fun car to drive.
