Give tech support a call at 1-800-423-0046 and provide them with your serial number (on the progressive controller) and purchase info. They'll set you up with one at no charge.

@AEM,
On your diagram, I was wondering if I am not running an external EBC but am using an AEM EMS, do I tap #30 into the boost controller on the EMS?

If you're using an EMS to control boost I'd use the Boost Safe low side output to directly trigger the HI/LO Boost Switch. Go BOOST CONTROL>ADVANCED BOOST>BOOST TARGET METHODS>HI/LO BOOST SWITCH and open the HI/LO BOOST SWITCH template. There you can set your boost target and your switch input. This way you won't need to use a relay at all.

Thanks, so then I should tap the green (ground) to the EMS pin? Sorry for the questions, I am very new to the EMS. I have had a professional tune it and I am looking to add the failsafe. At first I was going to do the relay but never knew about hooking it up to the EMS. Thank you for all of your help.

Yes, correct. The green wire on the progressive controller is the Boost Safe ground output. Connect that to your switch input pin on the EMS and then change your cal to activate that switch input.

Is your nozzle Black anodized? If it is that is AEM's new nozzle and the check valve is built into it.

Hey I know I'm resurrecting an old thread but it seems like a good one for anyone going with the AEM kit like myself. So here's my question: can anyone tell me what will happen on my 2010 WRX if I wire the failsafe to shutdown the boost control solenoid? When it powers down do I get a CEL or do I also go into limp mode? And what exactly does limp mode do? I obviously want to cut out any possibility of damaging my engine in a track situation but I also don't want to strand myself miles from home if I was to simply run out of fluid on a road trip. Thanks.

Well I guess I will have to try cutting the power and see what happens... I'll post results for anyone who cares....

Another question, I guess I will ask elsewhere if nobody knows... how much current does the relay need to be rated for? What's the max current that the EBCS draws?

I'm curious about tuning for wmI... I live in Mt and plan to drive to Mac in Co for some dyno time. I'm assuming I install the kit, test for flow, then pull power to the pump before I make the drive?

Im also a bit unclear on how to setup the failsafe. I know its been covered like 5 times before me but where should I buy a NC relay? And can someone please run me thru how to run the wires for my GrimmSpeed ebcs?

has anyone tried to make a double tank system that uses a larger tank mounted above the aem 1 gal tank? Using a separate low level sensor/dash indicatorfor the upper tank? I feel like I've seen someone on here do that.

Sorry if i'm beating this thread to death but I'd like to try meth lol. where is everyone buying alcohol or methanol? is one better than the other, prices?

I'm no expert but I can answer a couple of your questions:

RE: how to install without a tune: You have it right. Wire everything and test. Then cut power and go.

RE: Failsafe setup: I don't have the diagram or relay part number but basically power one side of the relay and wire the ground side up to the failsafe trigger. When the failsafe triggers, it will complete the circuit, energize the relay and cut power to the EBCS. that allows all the boost pressure to go straight to the actuator, opening your wastegate.

RE: alchohol vs. methanol: methanol IS Methyl alchohol. Just a different name. I would use winter wiper fluid or blend at least 50/50. Safer.
