Just to clarify this is not the huge 04/05 style replica STI scoop made for bugeye this is an oem wrx scoop cut up to fit the bugeye hood. I've seen a few members do this in a few different ways so I decided to post up my attempt.

First I made a paper template of the opening in the bugeye hood and Traced it onto the bottom of the 04/05 Wrx scoop with the template even with the front so I was only cutting off the back which was about this much...

Here's the result..

Next I shaveed ALL the slotted tabs off the front

Then I cut out a sheetmetal piece using the same template and welded threaded studs on the bottom that line up with the holes in the hood to mount it. Then cut out the center and mounted it to the scoop using the 2 screw holes on each side

Then I epoxied and jb welded around the entire perimeter. This is end result.. Note this is where you can see the problem you will run into as the scoop is narrower than the hood opening..

There was also this in the corner...

After that I fiberglassed the edges and sanded Leaving me this..

I just applied a thin layer of bondo to all fiberglassed areas, once that's done I'll sand it again and post finished pics

***** all props and credit to con10der8 Who is the originater

So this is a stock 04-05 wry hood scoop? Pics of it installed... I'm not a fan of the Sti scoop on a bug eye but, I honestly have never seen a stock wrx scoop used...

That looks really good. I was never a huge fan of the bugeye scoops, although they do fit the car well..

You should seriously make a mold and make some and sell them. I know I would buy one

Thanks everyone, Im having a hard time bonding the plastic scoop to the sheetmetal, I'm going to try some of that 3m panel bond, I can see the scoop flexing on the sheetmetal an if I have this thing painted and it cracks I won't be a happy camper haha and since it's kind of hard to DIY paint SRP I'll have to pay to have it painted again

I would actually look into mold making. I have never done it. My roommate has for stuff for his bike, but seriously that way you could have one whole piece of abs or poly instead of the scoop with the metal mount. Idk how hard or expensive it is but with as much time as you have put in it.

Idk i kind of like that to run this scoop and have it look factory you have to put in some hard work. Plus there is only a handful of guys running it
