Moving to the Cumming/John's Creek area in early October and just wanted to get a taste of the subie community down there. It's pretty awesome up here even in a fairly small town we have about a dozen or so Subarus that normally come to meets and many more from surrounding areas. Looking forward to meeting some cool people!

Driving? Wenatchee eh? I remember years back they were trying to claim that it was the "Big Apple" and wanted NYC to give up the title.

That's a heck of a move, and a major culture difference...
But welcome to the great southeast (well ok I'm a little early but still) |

I love it up here. Great driving roads, beautiful scenery. Moving to be closer to my fiance's family. And to buy a house. Houses down there are dirt cheap compared to Washington!

I did the same trip, with a lot of detours for sightseeing/avoiding snowed in passes.

Hmm, link brought me to a dead page.
I'm definitely looking forward to the roadtrip. Something a little scary about packing our lives into the car and trailer and moving across the country though. Exciting yet terrifying. |

If you can, take the time to stop and see the sights. There are some truly spectacular places between there and here. And you never know when you will get the chance in the future...

I guess I'm not TERRIFIED but the unknown is always a little scary. Job hunting, finding school/daycare for the kids, finding the right house, etc. It all seems a little overwhelming. But then again, this is our first time. |

I can't wait! We have visited twice and REALLY like the area. One question though, do you guys have ANY straight roads? lol Even residential roads are crazy curvy. haha Oh and are there any "regular" meets? Like every week or month or something?

Does anybody have any insight on living in Cumming, Alpharetta or John's Creek? Those are basically the three areas that we want to look at since they are close to my fiancee's dad and stepmother. Any info is greatly appreciated!

i have a friend who lives in roswell area. she loves it. atlanta and it's suburbs are great once you get to know the roads and the craptastic driving habits of those around you. i visit pretty often, and getting around is a bit more stressful than nc. but not like shoot yourself stressful, well maybe during rushour around spaghetti junction. most of the burbs try for a more small town feel, as constrasted by the bustle of atl proper. all in all, nice place, just not for me. i'll stay in nc any day...

That's kinda what I have gathered from the couple visits we have made there. I lived in Phoenix for a couple years so I know about peoples bad driving habits. And yeah as always getting to know your way around just takes time. Thanks for the input!

Well, Monday is the big day. The 2600+ mile journey begins. Car is ready. Trailer is built. Gonna start loading everything this weekend. How's the weather down there?
