We gave running a new best a shot and ended up with a new best MPH, but the ET wasn't so hot. Traction wasn't good at the line and down the track drifters on the adjacent course were kicking dust on the drag strip after the eighth. 25-27 psi on DOT Hoosiers.

We have been leaving on the rears with St.Lucias car once it started seeing the low 1.3s. IMO if you are cutting a 1.30 you are already ahead in the acceleration game. Are we loosing some power to the ground, sure.. could we gain a very small amount by planting the front better.. sure.. Is it worth breaking driveline parts to do it? Nope! We have yet to see any negatives aside from a little light steering in 1st and keeping it straight. Start hitting your car with a small shot and log your front/rear wheel acceleration. Then start working on the suspension to make it closer the first 330ft |

I'll stop treating you like a noob when you post accurate info! You say my box shifts in a 0.000000000001 sec power cut when it actually takes around 5,000,000,000 times longer than that! ie 0.05 secs. Now thats not exactly "waiting for gears" but if you stack up the 5 shifts, thats 0.25 secs off the power. The Jerico, lenco, 4eat etc will have 0.0 time off power. So please dont say they are the same. I can't comment on the Evo trans so lets keep the conversation to the Impreza trans. Anyone running low 8's on a std case 4wd manual trans? Regarding lifting front wheels and the effects on traction, your 4eat is different as its modified to be permanent RWD with a FWD clutch (but you knew that huh?) thats why you don't lose traction lifting the fronts. My traction issues (if you can call 1.34 60' on DOT's an issue) relate more to the track prep, they only glue the first 60' so you get there ok then break loose. I ran an 8.61@154 on 19psi boost (770 flywheel power) and then ran 8.42 @ 170 with 28psi boost (1010 flywheel) so go figure where the power was layed down lol I have the ECU set to shift gears but when you have to pedal it through the breaking traction with all 4 wheels it can get a bit messy so its no hardship to tug the lever, same shift speed and no air bottle to carry! Best of all, less to go wrong. No hard feelings ole timer ![]() Last edited by Cosie Convert; 07-13-2012 at 03:17 AM. |

Stluciascoobie's GC went 9.0@148 and 9.2@150 yesterday in qualifying.
28psi I think we have set a 60ft record for an IRS Subaru. 1.2960ft backed up by a 1.2760ft I will post an official update after today's track day. |

I doubt it would get you in the 7s. I've gone low 8.20s with your MPH and that 60ft on our 6cyl. Your gonna need another 6-8mph, that 60ft and 100% perfect pass to go any were near the 7s |

Will it all go BANG in a big way lolHow did the car run at the track next day? |
