That would mean investing in some huge, proprietary hydroform presses, in order to lengthen the Vette chassis. I agree, they should do that. Then rebody it as a Cadillac again and sell them to every aging enthusiast with a good retirement.

its not that much of an investment. I would imagine a 4 dr vette doing extremely well, especially if you can get the damn interior upto snuff with the luxury sedans of the world (merc, porsche, aston martin etc).

Soo... why cant GM make a stretch 4dr version (like the aston martin rapide) version of it?
She made a pukey face because you showed her the four door version of the Camaro, the four door version of the Vette is a CTS V .

she thinks that just as worse.

and personally i dont think a cts v is a very good looking vehicle. wtf angles? and the interior is too intrusive for a vehicle that size.

For those of you who have driven them know what I'm on about. It is amazing how fast and great handling a relatively cheap plastic car with a unsophisticated engine is lol

Default More leaks

This has to be the worst kept secret ever.

Autoblog: (more pic's) http://www.autoblog.com/2012/12/25/l...e-hit-the-web/

Quote:
Hope Santa's got some coal left, because someone else has earned it for yet another holiday season leak. Alongside leaked shots for the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible and Mercedes-Benz CLA, a Corvette Forum member recently uploaded a number of drawings of the C7 Corvette that he says someone has been sending him. The post has since been removed from the forum, the original poster, "Blue Ox," writing "the information I posted is less 'public' than was originally thought and... someone's job could be in danger."

There are no take-backs on the Internet, though. The drawings look to be from an owner's manual or a service guide and show the coupe's exterior, rear end and inside the rear hatch, then cover details of the cockpit, seats and engine bay. There's a new steering wheel inside, and a large central screen with a new array of HVAC buttons underneath. Pilots will get to sit in new sports seats that finally appear to have the proper amount of bolstering for a Corvette.

The dash cluster that was teased in a video not long ago looks like it could be a central LCD screen flanked by analogue gauges for the speedo, water temp and fuel tank, not an all-LCD display. There will be a Track Overlay feature that tracks the car on a track and monitors speed, brake and throttle application, gear selection, G force and direction, lap time and steering angle, and it displays a graph for the Performance Traction Management. This will likely work with the (or is a display for) the Performance Data Recorder that is said to be able to save vehicle data, as well as video and audio, to an SD card.

Not shown in the photos but thrown into the discussion is Active Rev Match for cars equipped with manual transmissions, said to match engine speed to the next gear for both upshifts and downshifts. Last but not least, an Engine Sound Management system will alter the 'robustness' of the engine note via seven settings: Auto, Stealth, City, Tour, Sport, Track and Off.

There are just three weeks left until the C7 is revealed at the Detroit Auto Show. We wouldn't mind leaving something left to surprise us on the official day, but we won't be surprised if that doesn't happen.

Interior still looks like something out of 1987, something that did not cost much to make...

That interior looks pretty bitching. Leather-wrapped dash like the updated C6's, proper seats, unique HVAC, driver-focused cockpit, and metrics on LCD. As long as they nail the materials on the hard bits it looks like we're finally getting the interior the Corvette deserves.

I know it's a black and white rendering, and it could actually look really good but I have to agree with you. As it looks now.

Not terrible, though I suspect the rear end IRL will look tacky like the Camaro.

That interior is very 90's. The material quality could in principle make it look not cheap, but the basic design looks pretty outdated. The passenger side trim piece that includes the air vents is really terrible, it doesn't flow with the driver centric dash shape at all. The expansive, featureless dash area above it will also look super cheap unless covered in stitched leather. I'm sure it will be an improvement over the current Cobalt-inspired interior, but that's not saying much.

It's so ugly. At least C6 owners don't need to worry about a drop in value.

Wow, wtf is wrong with you people? That interior is exactly what most sports cars need to have. It's driver focused dash much like a supra. Oh no it's not some completely off the wall new standard interior you see on pretty much every car today . You guys keep saying it's outdated and from the 90's, can you give a good amount of examples cause AFIAK the only car to have a driver focused dash was the supra.

This is definitely going to be an awesome car from the looks of it.

Sweet, like a 1989 Supra or 92 SVX or countless other cars from the 80s and 90s... And look, a 1986 300zx readout! That's like Knight Rider or something! I just really hope it comes with automatic seatbeats!!!

C&D has posted the official exterior pictures.

Go to there site for more info.

CORRECTION: Despite the headline of that article, this is a render, not an official pic. Sorry about that.
