Why on earth would it have a hood scoop? That's like putting a WRX hood scoop on a Honda. No.

There you go, some hate right there.

Hate? I haven't even heard the mention of a hood scoop on a BRZ. Now that I have, I HATE the idea of it. I don't even like the fake side air vents. No need for more fake scoops. What's the point?

Don't let that stop you from doing whatever you want. A fake hoodscoop will do less to harm the car than some of the ridiculous wheel setups people are already putting on the car. It's your car after all.

I hate the fake hood scoops on the mustangs and camaros. I hate the idea of one on the BRZ. If the car doesn't have FI or need more air flow on the top it shouldn't have a scoop. It would be like putting a giant wing on a Mazda 2 or Fiesta. If it can't go fast enough to need downforce don't add extra weight. Non functional shiny bits annoy me.

Meh, Im not going to do it unless I come up with a way for forced induction that needs to pull from the top. front grill is a tiny space already, so I dont see it being practical for pulling a lot of air.

I believe the concepts in question where for FI builds. dont quoat me though :P.

I find the fake side vents rather anoying too. I wish so much of the structure didn't go right behind them, or I would just make them real. prob improve eng comp temps a lot.

still looking for pictures, but I guess its pointless unless they have a poped hood w/blower or other FI :P

I could understand then if you added a supercharger. Not sure I would go TMIC though. Would have to see what the air pressure and airflow looks like across the front of the car first.

I will have to see the renderings first. Hopefully something more subtle overall.

the BRZ is NA and doesnt need a hood scoop. its pointless unless it has a TMIC or supercharger. so its not hate. why would you want a scoop on a car that doesnt require one? for looks? cus it sure isnt for performance.

I fall into the, "as long as it's functional" crowd. I have never been a fan of hood scoops appearance wise.

And I have owned three different makes/ models with them

"Hood scoop hate?" BRZ doesn't have one, and the only photo you provide is of a photoshop, and 2 hours after you initiated it.

Your topics and spelling are similar to a 12 year olds understanding of how a forum works. You create topics that are nothing like the content within, and devoid of any really meaningful content at that. Most importantly, you make my brain hurt.

Dear OP, welcome to my ignore list.

This is exactly why I was banned from FT86 Club before the car even came out. You people are ridiculous with your asinine stupidity.

I see a scoop that works perfectly for the car it was designed for.

--kC
It was made for the GC WRX, therefore my statement is valid.

That's the thing, the OP created a thread about AFTERMARKET scoops, not from the OEM.

Hrm...I could maybe see a slit up front a la Mini S, with some kind of funnel for the air box. I'm sure we'll see more of this stuff crop up as more intake options become available. I think the supercharger kit I saw had the filter in front of the radiator. Scoop in front of the hood then? Blech.

I'm not a fan of no purpose bling either. But to each their own. I know there will not be one on my car.
