Ahh! Probably! I think there must be 4 or 5 silver hawkeye wagons around you guys. There's another slammed silver wagon with black wheels, but with red RA flaps.

Blame Katelynn!

Need a new shoot soon, but I need to give her a good detail. I've been so busy working on the newly purchased house lately I haven't had a chance to do my spring detail yet (hello summer). I might be able to put a few hours to it this weekend and take some shots, but we'll see.

I love your car. I have basically the same vehicle. Very similar power mods. I'm looking to do basically the same suspension mods but I have a few questions for you.

When switching to sedan lca's and lat links the extra length allows you to run sedan fitment struts without camber plates, correct? And if you continue with wagon struts you gain negative camber?

Also what are the advantages of going to sti lca's and lat links over wrx sedan?

I can't remember for sure which order you went with so this may not be relevant but did you ever use wagon axels with the conversion and if so did you have any issues?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks man!

Yes, with sedan or STi lat links and LCA's you'll be able to run sedan struts without losing the extra negative camber. And yes, if you keep the wagon struts, you'll gain even more negative camber. It's not much though, but a little bit.

Comparing the STi lat links and LCA's to a WRX sedan, the STi pieces are a bit wider than the WRX sedan. I don't remember by how much though. Plus the STi pieces are aluminum instead of steel (unless you get the LCA's from certain '06 WRX's).

There's a ton of threads that talk about whether or not you need to switch axles or not. Most threads say you'll be fine. A couple months after I did the swap, I ended up pulling a CV apart under full throttle. The retainer that keeps the CV from pulling apart broke. It's possible that the extra width caused the retainer to fail, but who knows. I ended up swapping in sedan rear axles after that and haven't had a problem. The front axles haven't been swapped and are still running strong.

Good luck with the swap!

Thanks man! They are 225. Can't fit anything bigger without rolling the rear fenders more.

Sweet! Thanks for the quick reply, I've been looking at 225s and theses look plenty wide enough for me. I'm on stock suspension for now but I'll be rolling the rears when I either put it on Swifts or go your route with the LCAs and lateral links.

Your car is such an inspiration, thanks for all the info in this thread and the calling all wagons thread.

Without the STi LCAs and lay links, you could run 235's without rolling fenders, depending on your wheel offset and suspension setup. Possibility to rub on the inside though. I rubbed slightly on full lock on the front insides.

Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot! I don't get a lot of fanfare with my wagon because its not slammed and tucked or running huge power.

Going through a few older pics and decided to reedit a few....

Spring is here....I'll spend a weekend detailing once snowboarding season is over, then it'll be photoshoot season. Didn't get any pics last summer, I'll make sure to get out there this year........

Those older shots are with a Nikon D40 and kit lens. I've since upgraded to a D90 kit lens. For being a budget camera, it takes decent pics as long as you kinda know what you're doing. A bit of editing magic always helps too.
