If so, then rokbloks are the way to go if I ever need replacements. My basic flaps are fine for now, good protection and pretty flexible/durable for plastic. |

mine are riveted to the body panels. are the rokblockz ones the same or do they mount inside the wheel well? i spoke to paul the owner of primitive he had said that there were none for the 2006 wagon while still running the side skirts.
here's a pic of my car with the ones primitive made for me. notice the brackets riveted to the panel. im not saying mine are better than well mounted i just think the screws or in my case rivets are better protected from rocks being that they are in the direct path of flying debris. ![]() ![]() |

May be a dumb question......
...but is there a map of unpaved roads I can access? I'm getting bored of all the same gravel roads, and would like to see what's around me. Sure I could go exploring, but driving for hours to find a few nice roads is kind of a waste. My gps highlights some unpaved roads in a grey color, but it's not always right. |

^^Get yourself a road Atlas for your state fellas. They show in great detail road surface and even elevation changes. Thomas book isn't bad for getting you places, but they don't tell you much more then that. Some of the Atlas are sort of like a Topo map, but with surface conditions as well.
Edit: not seeing the Topo versions online anymore, but still a good investment. -Anthony |

Gotcha.
From my offroad experience the two best places to start are suspension (including subframe bracing) and skid plates. Big difference between a rally stage and baja. Let me clarify.... Your suspension mounts will take a beating. So will the control arms. It just all a matter of finding and eliminating the weak links.. or building fuses into the right spots and carrying easy to change spares. Last edited by The Phenx; 07-27-2012 at 02:07 PM. |

I went with the rokblokz XL for my 02 wagon. They are holding up very well.

![]() They made it 78 miles and broke a clutch master cylinder. But up until then they we're doing really good. I guess it was easy with the AWD to pass cars in the silt. Not sure if they ever tried again. Doing it in a Forester would be cool though. You'd have more room for spares. There was a forester that ran Dakar rally, but it was more of just a silhouette of a Forester, ![]() Very little of the car that rolled off the assembly line. At any rate, I think you could build a car that would make it on the stock suspension pick up points. You'd have to reinforce them pretty heavily, and use tubular arms and links. Dampers would be a big part of making it to the end. You could use suspension off a group N Impreza and run longer springs. Anyway, I think it's doable. I know you guys are in the "thinking about it" phase, but I will be daydreaming about Baja ready Fozzy's for the rest of the day now lol. Let me know if you guys need anything for it, I'd like to help prep it, even if it's just for stage rally for now. What year is it by the way? -Anthony |
