Here's my analysis after first oil change at 4,025 miles, and no more gentle than recommended break-in.

Comments: High wear and silicon are common finds in new engines, such as your new Impreza. The excess wear metals are from new parts breaking-in while silicon is from sand-casted parts and sealers used when assembling your engine. Both should improve with subsequent oil changes. Universal averages for this type of engine are based on an oil run of ~4,200 miles. With a few more oil changes your wear should read at or below universal averages. Subaru makes nice engines, so this should be a good one for you. No contaminants or problems found.
