I've read some posts and it says this swap has been done. Im curious if anyone can point me in the right direction? Maybe with some thread links on the site. I'm trying to see if i can do the swap without having to buy a whole GC8 clip and convert to RHD to make the crossmember and hydraulic clutch trans fit.

i am swapping a 95 impreza as we speak. All the bodys are the same from 93-01. My wrx hydro clutch went right in the impreza no issues. And the impreza was cable. All the holes are there and everything lines right up. Just start taking stuff apart and figure it out. Ill tell you this everything works. Use iwire for the harness swap tho.

for the most part, all impreza 93-07 and forester 98-02(maybe newer, never dealt with them) crossmembers are interchangable, depending on what engine you want to run. They are also easy to change if you are already swapping the motor. And yes the hydraulics for the clutch bolt righ in if you have all the pieces.
For an example of interchangibility, my 95l has an ej20k w/ 5-speed trans + hydraulic clutch, 02 wrx pedals, 06 sti crossmember and a hodge-podge of other parts off of other subarus. And this drivetrain was previously swapped into a forester (hence the name) and it all bolted in with no modification. The only thing that wasnt easy was the wiring, subaru was nice with the mechanical interchangibility but wiring wise forget it. Contact I-Wire for the wiring, it will be worth it. Im kicking myself for tacklling wiring myself |

Any usdm crossmember will need the front control arms shimmed. I got a jdm sti cross and sway to eliminate that. Go to I-wire, amazing customer service, and workmanship. Check RS25 because this has been covered extensively.

I am putting an ej20k in to my 95 L. i haven't been able to find much info on the clutch conversion.. i have bought a usdm wrx clutch and flywheel, but the whole pull type push type clutch stuff is confusing me what do i need to get the ej20k tranny(TY752VBCAA) to work?

If you already have a\the EJ20K tranny, all of the little details will be the same as a USDM WRX. If for some reason newer parts don't work the only other USDM car to look at is the '91-'94 Legacy turbo.

so i read somewhere that in 05 the wrx crossmember is different becuase of some change to the steering rack. is that true? the reason i ask is im trying to find a crossmember for the 20k and id rather not pay full price for a new one but i can only find a used 05 crossmember.
