Thanks man. Should be fun watching you tag along with pops.

Thanks to everyone else. I hope I can inspire some people to realize you can do anything if you put your heart and dedication into it. This also means you have no excuses I'm still not done yet, but I am going to take myself and my body/strength to unforeseen places lol

I'm proud to also add in that during this 9 month period I never once had a fallout and returned to my old eating habits. The only time I ate off was when I was stuck in a hospital bed

Like always, props to Dave for believing I could do it. No joke, I have proved a lot of people wrong and it makes me feel good to know they look stupid now hehe.

You cant win though. I had a family party on Saturday and a lot of them told me "your too skinny"...what??? And again my mom yesterday asked me "can you start eating normal again?" sigh...

I am not even near you and my mother in law, who eats like a pidgin, tells me that all the time.

"Your too skinny" "You don't need to lose anymore weight" "If you get too skinny, the skin on your face will pull back and make you look old"

I told her she doesn't know me or my body so get outta my bidness.

Short break starting with work travel turned into two weeks away. Bleh.

Upper body yesterday in a crowded-ass gym. Didn't get finished with everything I wanted to do (there was still gas in the tank, and I'm remarkably un-sore today) but after an hour-plus of filtering through the bros, I just got tired of the people. Fitocracy only gave me 900 points.

Today, squats and other leg stuff. Plus the couple things I didn't get to yesterday.

Carb up day starts tomorrow!!!! WOOT!!!!

Cutting back on water as of tomorrow (1.5 gallons) and Friday will be 3/4 gallon. I get at least 5 servings of carbs tomorrow, possibly 7 depending on how I fill out.

So one of my owners is really into the heritage of Gold's Gym and bodybuilding in general. My club is full of vintage artwork from Venice, and it makes telling "our story" more powerful. Well today I received the mother load of cool vintage equipment. He tracked down and bought a low row machine from the original Gold's made by Joe himself in the 60's. It's cool to know that Arnold, Frankie, Lou, and rest of them trained on this piece. I'll get better pics once we get it set up and operational. It should make a great display piece in my club.

went to the chiro this morning.. asked me a few questions then did a quick eval on my back with a few pokes.. i am basically messed up all over my back.. at least i only feel it where my my back popped but i still have that trailing pain too

apparently, my left leg extends further than my right.. not by physical length but from some kind of static shift in my back making my legs not come out evenly

xrays were done and my next appt will comprise of them explaining what they show.. i just want to get fixed soon=/

This just straight up trolling or what? I think it's an attempt to get the Chinese and Russians to get weaker when they adopt our "new technique"

Seven rounds of:

Yesterday, leg day. Today? Limp around like a 90-year-old man day!

Wheeeeeee.

Moving my beginner self from the smith machine over to real squats- the feeling is kind of like riding a horse if you haven't in a while. Using muscles you didn't know were there, and such.

Deadlift

155 lb x 5 reps
190 lb x 5 reps
230 lb x 3 reps
250 lb x 5 reps
290 lb x 5 reps

Rowing (machine)

0:04:30 || 1041 m

First time deadlifted conventionally in about 4 years. I'm going to have to work more on my mobility (I find sumo isn't as much due to the wide stance). Threw the belt on @ 290 just to see what it'd feel like- whole different animal when it comes to fit on that

Single leg squats and/or pistol squats are nothing new.

It looks like the video was taken out of context. There might be a place for that half squat crap on a well developed athlete that is currently competing. It might prevent injury and avoid placing more stress on the athlete. The flip side is a well conditioned athlete should have no issues with a full squat.

I would prefer a combination of pistol squats, front squats, and Olympic style back squats using the full range of motion. In my opinion, that would do more for muscle development, explosivity, range of motion, and muscle balance.

That other stuff - maybe for rehab or something? Maybe not at all?

Hai guys,

It seems I've borked my knee. Went to do squats tonight and I couldn't get past the quarter squat position, even with just the bar on my back. Also, last month I went for a slow paced 1 mile run and my knee didn't hurt while running, but it did for 2 weeks after.

Some background: It first started hurting ~2 years ago when I used to run a lot and since I hurt it I've done very minimal running. However, I have been deadlifting/squatting and playing baseball twice a week.

Anyway, my real question is what kind of a doctor should I go see? A DO or MD? Just a physical therapist?

ohh man, wish i knew what to tell ya.. i have a feeling i may be in the same boat in a few yrs

whenever i have pain in my knees, it's from not having done anything in a long while.. i basically run the rust off and i'd be fine after a couple weeks of consistent running

hope you get it squared away
