Thank you much.
The ECM flash was performed by the dealer. I have the 5 speed and this is what I was experiencing:

The closest comparison I can think of would be like having a super heavy flywheel. If you let out the clutch and give it gas, it takes second or two to build momentum and then it seems fine, although I did notice a bit of hesitation between shifts which is now gone after the new update. Prior to the update, when I was stopped at a light for example, I would have to increase the revs to about 2k for the car to accelerate properly. If not, and this happened on a number of occasions, all the lights on the dash would come on as if the car was going to stall.

The car feels stronger and pulls harder off the line. If we could tune our cars, low to mid torque could be improved but of course, there isn't a whole lot of support for our non turbo cars.

Anybody have a link to where I can order some yellow fog lights for a 2012 Impreza? Couldn't figure out how to search this thread.

If you are looking for yellow light output you might try this instead:
Amazon.com: Nokya Hyper Yellow H16 9009 5202 Foglight Bulbs: Automotive

Before I attempt a fog light housing retrofit, I plan on trying a bulb style similar to the one in the link. I suspect it should offer a much better light output then the factory bulb and LED bulb.
Will those amazon ones work?

Bulbs, I've looked into overlays but want to cover the bulbs, and lenses I guess also.

Right, I want the look but won't sacrifice functionality. I'll probably just go the film route, just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

I put the link in your tint thread you started a few days ago. That eBay item is closed but click on "more from this seller" to find another listing. You can also go to Lamin-X site & order Forester ones if the 2012 still isn't on there. The Forester ones you just cut down to size.

my first time working with the vinyl & up close they're not perfect, but i think i did alright. i will say, you may want to go with the option to buy a sheet & cut them yourself. with the pre-cut, there's not much wiggle room & if they shift even slightly during application you may have an exposed edge, so if you can cut them just a hair too big you'll have a small lip to apply around the edge if you need to.

I wouldn't expect an ECU flash to make a ton of difference in this econobox. I'm sure you can tune it to make a little bit more power, but I wouldn't expect a whole lot. Just my .02

So can I just go in and ask for the ECU flash without getting an oil change or any other work done?

I don't see why not. A TSB was issued for the CVT so there should be one for the manual.

I used Lamin-X on my fogs too. But instead of ordering the Forester product, I ordered one 4x8 inch sheet, cut it in half, applied the film, and then trimmed it to size.

Make sure you apply this stuff when it's warm outside. On my VW, I applied it in the winter, and couldn't get all the creases out because it was too stiff.

Has anyone installed the Perrin lightweight crankshaft pulley? Any issues or error codes after installation?

I posted in italia490's thread about this. I had my first oil change done and told them about the issue I am having. They said there was no ECM re-flash for the manuals. When I told him a guy on NASIOC has one that had the same problem, got an ECM reflash and it fixed the problem, they couldn't give me a straight answer.
Now, I am going to bring it back with the thread pulled up on my phone, and show them the part of the service invoice from italia490's thread, and see if they can just do what they did to his car.

Some people think an ECM reflash is all about getting more horsepower when it is sometimes just about getting better throttle response. If we found a tuning company to look into our ECMs maybe they can find a couple horses, but more importantly smooth out the throttle response.

They make a crank pulley for our cars? I thought it was only for the BRZ/FR-S.

I don't think the TSBs would apply to the manual versions since it has to do with shifting, for lack of a better word.

You can always use a hair dryer to heat up the material. I like the thinner film as it is a bit easier to work with.

Since you have no idea what you are talking about, maybe you should keep your $0.02 to yourself. The issue has nothing to do with shifting. If that was the case, why would there be an ECM re-flash for the manual. Has a TSB been released for the manual....I can't say for certain but what i can say from my own experience is that there is clearly an issue with driveability on the earlier '12 imprezas and that there is a noticeable improvement after the re-flash.

I contacted Perrin, and they said the CP for the BRZ/FR-S applies to '12 Impreza.

The yellow Lamin-X product is plenty easy to work with, if it's warm outside. Yes, I've heard of the hair dryer trick too, but that would be more tedious.

I like that the Lamin-X product is thick because it provides more protection against rock damage. And it wears well over time.

Contacted Perrin about the CP to see if there are any issues such as a check engine light coming on but no response yet. My Co-worker put a light weight crank pulley on his Nissan Juke and that cause the the check engine light to come on.

Perrin is not the most responsive company...I've spent a month sending them messages and emails and only have gotten one answer.
I know from reading through the forums that a cat-back exhaust would void warranty. So, I don't want to do that or the muffler delete because of the cut out in the bumper.

Any suggestions on aftermarket mufflers? I want less restriction and a better sound.

Anything axle back won't void the warranty.

A few pages ago, I posted a video of mine with a magnaflow muffler. Welded on.
Here is the vid again

Yeah, I knew an axle back wouldn't. It sounds good. Does it drone out the boxer rumble a lot? Why'd you weld it, instead of just doing bolt on?
