Just replaced cabin air filter!! Pics! - Page 30

I tried to remove the glove box on my 2011 wrx but seems like there is no clip like the 10 or 09, do I just pull out the glove box as hard as I can?

Disconnect the little shock absorber thing. Squeeze the sides of the glove box real hard until stops clear the backside of the dash. Tip the box forward and unhinge it from the dash.

wow never realized these filters can get so DIRTY!! I will replace mine annually and I am going to replace one for my dad this weekend!!! I don't think he ever replaced his cabin air filters....90k.....wow......don't even wanna imagine.

Seriously.. luckily for me (I guess) I never run my vents. I'm an open windows type of guy and I got the car in April so haven't had to use the heating system on yet.

Took my glove box off today to check, nothing there in my '02. Guess I'll have to wait a year or so to see how bad it gets!

That's a lot of work just to change the cabin air filter. When I changed mine, I did not removed any screws. The glove box itself was the only thing I removed. Then, I was able to removed the cabin air filter.

Mine after 70K was bad, but man I swear some of these have got to be fake, I just dont get how that can get in there!

09 WRX. I just checked my filter and it was dirty. I just tapped it on the ground like 20x and then put it back in.

If this was in reference to mine, there is nothing fake there my friend. I was as shocked as you were. Actually had to carry it carefully while I went inside to get the camera because there was no way anyone would believe it.

Needless to say, since then all of my vehicles now get this maintenance regularly.
