Nearest dealer that had the color I wanted and the options I wanted (or lack of options for that matter) was all the way in Vermont. Can't order anymore 2012's and I really didn't feel like waiting around.

They were really easy to deal with and I arranged to have the car transported in an enclosed trailer and delivered here.

I was thinking about just going up there to pick it up, but really didn't want the first 500 miles to be all highway miles with a relatively constant engine speed. Plus shipping was way more affordable than I originally thought, and I didn't have to spend a whole weekend going to get the car.

So im looking to ditch the WRX and move on up to a hatch STi. thoughts on this one?

http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-s...27311832&Log=0

I know its mega high mileage but its been well maintained and comes with the Rotas that i want! it looks 100% stock other then the window tint and wheels. and only 2 owners.

Personally, I would keep looking. For the same price or maybe even less, you can find a lower mileage example in the classifieds here. The other main issue I have buying from a dealer is you have no idea how the car was taken care of or driven before. At least with private sellers you can feel them out and make an assessment based on how they act or talk about the car. Hell, the forums are great because you can look at peoples prior thread/posts. If someone claims it's never seen the track yet they posted their 1/4 mile time, it might raise some flags... /end .02

Also you should be careful with the '08s. Those motors were super prone to popping on the stock tune. Who's to say this one hasn't been through a couple motors already. Also I bet it was traded in before the timing belt was done.

I checked the history of the car, and it has LITERALLY every single record available, oil changes done every 3K all done at the same dealer. and im sure if the motor would have popped, it would have done so already. and the timing belt isnt a big deal, i can do that at my work for super cheap.

I'm gonna agree with everyone else, 25k for that many miles is crazy. You could buy an almost brand new wrx hatch for that price, and have almost parallel performance to an STi. Or you could buy a GD body style with almost no miles like I did for less than that price.

I'm just done with the WRX and the 5 speed. I know i can get a brand new one for that cost but i dont want to have to worry about the ****ty 5 speed tranny and not having all the goodies that the sti has. And if im grabbing another car its gonna be a newer Hatch. I'll probably keep looking.

why freedom PA for control arms???

also.. I'm sort of toying around with the idea of having monthly-ish install / hang-out days here at the shop on random weekends (between race events..)

pretty much everyone would be welcome.. open up a couple bays for people to do whatever they need to do...

we have every tool here you'd ever need... from spark-plug sockets to tubing benders.

I dunno.. If anyone thinks they'd be down for that.. post it up, we can discuss... I guess.

That sounds like a pretty cool idea, mr ****. I have forward and rear trailing arm bushings that have been hanging around since January because I need at least 1 other person, a torch, and a press for the install.

why would you need a torch???

I have a small hyd press... an arbor press (what I use for bushings) and a 175ton deal I fire when I want to see how much I can make a penny grow..

The bolts holing the rear of the trailing arm to the hub are really on there good, I guess with the car up in the air we might be able to get better leverage, but I was figuring the torch would be used to heat the bolts up.

Where is your shop btw

I really hate to use a torch on anything.. I'm sure we can get them out sans heat...

And I should have those OE bolt / nuts In a drawer. (I stock a lot of that stuff).

Shop is basically In twinsburg..
It's weird. If I cross the street, I'm in Hudson, I have a neighbor in Macedonia..

Pm me your digits. Text is way easier.

A. Good price?
B. What's the difference between these and usdm?
(playing devils advocate here)

Do bushings whilst you're at it.

Order them from TiC today, and you'll likely have them tomorrow.
