Will Do! I have a quick question, how did you get ur Subaru if u have One into Sweden, seems like there is no high performance cars atleast wrx, EVO, etc their. Ive seen 2 Subaru while there but that cause i live by the ocean.

Also il be purchasing a car from japcity.com seems like all the cars i look åt are the same price. Where did you purchase?

Sure no problem! I left my WRX back in Canada so I have a car when I go back to visit.

Funny enough I bought a used VW golf Diesel because I really did not want to pay all that money on a gas. I could afford it but just rather put money elswhere. If I do stay a few more years, I will probably a Subaru Impreza Deisel.

From what I hear about modified cars, it is not so easy. From what my friend told me, you get a yearly car inspection from a goverment run outfit and the car needs to be to manufacturer specs to pass. How strict it is, not sure but swedes follow the rules so you would need to investigate. And not sure how that affects imported cars.

Buying a car here is abouy 25% more expensive, so might be better to import one in. And about the same for bar and restaurants!

Goteborg is a beautifull city, been there a few times and really enjoyed it! Went kayaking up the coast there a few weeks ago.

Girlfriend. Haha. If ur around next year in June in Göteborg you Can check out the city race they have. Its kinda of a island in the middle of a bridge. I been wanting to go för two years and each time i miss it!

Take the train to Göteborg, its right by central station and a huge bridge, riding train is cheap and fast.

There is a lot of tuned cars here in Sweden. It is cars from 2001 and upwards that have more regulations about tuning. It's not many people that care about thou =).


The car inspection is called "besiktning".

This is my car and it clears the "besiktning" without any problems.

You need to choose the right "besiktnings" station if you have a tuned car. The people who inspect the cars can have a good day and be nice =). A big plus is if they like cars. Like the one that inspected my car this year. It was on a small station in a small city. He said he really liked my car and was thinking about getting a Impreza himself =). The car cleared the inspection without any problems.

But if you tune the engine with a big turbo etc it will be much harder. The laws says you can only increase the power with 10% =).


The most important things is that the car is safe(brakes,critical pars being rust-damaged etc) and have emission values within the limits. It the car is safe and in general good condition it will almost pass every time even if its tuned.

Thanks man! I looking for a car right now, right now a older rx7, a mk3 supra, or a Audi 1.8t Quattro, i found this neat i mean sick leone rx2, its in awesome condition, 1.8t awd.. sadly gf says no.. i have around 10-15000kr to spend, maybe 20000 if its perfect.

What area dö you live around in? What work dö you Do?

There is a handful of WRX/STi around stockholm. If you have a modified car a lot of people keep the stock parts and just put them on when going for inspection.
