Default Infamous Tuning

Wanted to write a quick review for Shamar at Infamous Performance. Got a road tune with him a couple months back and he did an incredible job. He was able to tell a lot about the car just by riding in the passenger seat. What really impressed me was all the extra help he gave me with the car. Apparently I had a bunch of little problems, one of which was a boost leak. He pulled his little tool kit out of his car and helped me get everything nice and tight again (burned his hand while he was at it) and when everything was in order we started to go. I really thought at one point he was going to just send me off cause the car just wasn't running perfectly the way it should. He actually ended up spending most of the day with me because of all the little problems I had going on. Great guy, knows a lot about cars, and did more than I expected of him. Definitely worth the money I spent on the tune and learned a lot in the process.

Mike's a great guy too. It's nice having a shop close by in San Diego!

Well here's the not so kind words.

I've ordered twice from infamous performance, on both occasions I paid for expedited shipping. However, on both occasions I've been screwed over on this. The first time was on a Grimmspeed AOS when I paid for two day shipping. On this time, as I didn't have time to wait, I ended up cancelling the order. Mind you, they were willing to and did cancel mid-shipment.

On this time, I paid yet again for parts I do absolutely need in a hurry. My receipt/invoice emailed to me today even clearly shows UPS next day air, yet I get tracking for UPS ground with delivery on the 2nd of July?????? Completely UNSAT

I can't speak for your tuning. I've heard pretty good things about it, but won't be needing that service from you as I do my own. However, it seems that whoever handles your shipping is not very keen on actually reading invoices, and this is making me wonder what else will be screwed up with my order if this can't be gotten right. As it is, I paid for overnight as I needed the parts that soon. Is it too much to get what you pay for?

Regardless of the outcome, there will absolutely not be a third order, no matter how sweet the deal.

I apologize for my error is missing the request for expedited shipping. Part of the issue is that the package ordered comes with free shipping. So, Next Day Air is not an option. It was only an option on the t-stat that was ordered. The cooling package has free shipping and this overrides any changes made during checkout.

Regardless, I did miss the request. 100% of the shipping charge was refunded. If you need something next day, a email, PM or phone call will always get you the best results. Not all items are in stock all the time (your complete order was in stock and shipped same day).

We appreciate your business and apologize for the error.

There was nothing noting free shipping on the package in the description. Frankly, I needed expedited shipping for a reason and will not make a deadline that will cost me pretty much the equivalent of my order.

I would be understanding if the order was not in stock and you contacted me to let me know that. In cases like that, no harm, no foul and I won't be mad about that. Worst case scenario, if the order could not be fulfilled I would just get a refund and not think ill of you.
However, both the last time and this time the order was in stock. And on both times I specifically ordered and paid for expedited shipping. On both times I was downgraded to ground. As far as I'm concerned, and considering my current situation, either fulfill my order as ordered so that I get it before week's end, eat a 10% discount on top of the refund in shipping if you really want me to retain this order (which would be equitable to the percentage of income lost on my end), or refund my money immediately so that I may get my order fulfilled elsewhere.

I had good results with the products I bought from Infamous, great shipping tracking and quick turnaround.

I did however try to get an E-Tune from them this past month, and once I had acquired the cable and programs recommended to give them the data (they were great with the help for the links to utilize open source), I received no contact after multiple emails and just this morning just had my money refunded for the tune. Kind of disappointing as I too had heard great things about Infamous and Shamar, and figured the tune I was asking for would be fairly simple for them since they offer a discount on the configuration I have: a basically stock 2005 XT with a replacement BNR 16G turbo to replace a cooked stock one, along with the upgraded Infamous oil line, and a Perrin turbo inlet hose I bought from them. Just tuned to be safe with the little extra boost.

I guess I'll have to go somewhere else.

Shamar has been unable to keep up with demand (in a timely fashion). Shamar is Infamous Tuning.

Because complaints about timeline/delivery were sent to me at Infamous Performance and I have no ability to perform the tunes for you a refund was sent (if the tune was paid for through my website). When a tune is purchased through me instead of direct through Shamar I simply subcontract his labor. I do not perform the tune.
