Default 2012 impreza 2.0 exhaust options

I'm looking to see who has done an exhaust on our cars yet. Anyone???

I'm looking for a SIMPLE bolt on axel back, or cheap cat back.

If I can't find one, I will probably just build my own using some pipe and http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brand-New-Po...ab3e00&vxp=mtr

I just have to find out what size the stock piping is.

Best bet would be go to an exhaust shop and have one custom made.

On my GC, I've had a 2 1/4'' Lous custom exhaust for like 6 years now, mild steel with crappy kinked bends. But it only cost like 150 bucks....still looks (and sounds) great !

With this car, right now I'm leaning twards fabricating a simple muffler replacement. I'm gonna use a good looking twin tip connected to the stock exhaust http://www.mandrel-bends.com/catalog...ro-bk-999.html all the way up to where the stock muffler bolts on. Should be simple yet quite effective !.....and cost less than 50 bucks.

Do your just gonna bolt on a tip? That wont change the sound....

If your thinking of getting a muffler and welding that on WITH said tip then that'll make a difference in the sound. Just keep in mind that cheap exhausts tend to sound cheap and raspy...

the 2012 impreza has a built in resonator ! So the muffler delete actually works quite well

there are a few more videos on youtube. they all sound rather quiet actually, with a nice deep rumble.

If I'm not happy with the sound when I simply unbolt the muffler, I will prolly replace the next section of piping with 2.25'' back to the axel.

Do you happen to have pictures of your headers? I'm Curious to see what the newer models look like.

Does anyone know where I can get a flange that fits the Impreza (2012) so I can just weld some pipe to it and make the delete seen in the video? or does anywhere sell the little tip and flange (the one in the video) ready to go?

I'll have some custom fit flanges cut in a month or so when I start making cat backs and/or axle backs for the 2012+ 2.0i

I threw this together in the meantime (muffler was barely used, sti tip was very used)

That is a hatchback right? So you made a bumper cutout for the exhaust tip?

Sounds good. I wouldn't want it any louder on a DD, but I have come to accept the fact that I'm getting old and my opinion on the matter is no longer relevant.

Correct: hatchback.
The hatchback already comes with a little mini cutout:

(this is a pic I got from a Moore Performance build of a customer's car, who is a member of this forum)

The factory cutout just happened to be the exact diameter as the sti tip I had collecting dust, so I took the idea and ran with it:

Hmm...I never noticed the cutout being present but now I know. It fits the STi tip perfectly and it looks good too.

I know this question was asked over two months ago, but as an update, I just received my first batch of custom made flanges today.

I'll have an axle back prototype made in a week or two, then make them available for purchase.
