Default VVT 2009 ej25 on a ts 2001 ?

So I am planning to swap a 2009 ej25 in my 2001 GC with the 2.2 engine.

I know that the 2009 uses vvt but the 2001 doesn't.

I will run on a stock ecu from the 2001 non vvt engine.

Now my question is : If I use your my stock drivers side cam gear, stock intake mani, & throttle body, stock coolant x over pipe, with my stock ecu I should be good no ?

Anybody else did this swap ?

I do not think this will work without significantly more work than you have listed. Electrical connectors are different on the heads, but it might work.
