Event: Dyno Tune !
Location: Accelerated Performance| Toledo, OH Ambient Temp: 75 degrees Elevation: 790-800ft Weather: Humid Car: 2012 Subaru BRZ Tuner: Visconti Dyno Info: DynoJet 224 Peak HP at RPM: 439 @ 7200 Peak Torque at RPM: 340 @ 5800 Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno: 161WHP/136WTQ Target AFR: ![]() Fuel: Straight e85 Engine/Power Modifications: Stock Header, Accelerated Performance BRZ-400 Turbo Kit @ 20PSI, OMNI 4 BAR Map Sensor, DW65 Pump, DW900 Injectors, Exedy Clutch ! Lots of stuff going on here in Ohio.. Don from Accelerated Performance is having me push the limits of the BRZ with his BRZ-400 Turbo Kit. Today we spent most of the day waiting for the new clutch to come in - within a few dyno pulls we were making almost mid 400s... but the day was over at that point. Tomorrow I plan on dialing in the car a little more so we can take it to the track on Wednesday. I'll post up a clear graph some time in the early morning. For now enjoy the video September 6th 2012 Update - Accelerated Performance went back to the track today to see if a little 'driver mod' could improve on our 12.1 Pass. They ran the car twice - 12.4 @ 124 was the first pass of the day. The car was hot lapped and results were exactly what we expected. 11.3 @ 127 ! Car was ran the same way it was just last week - e85 from the pump and 20PSI I guess 'driver mod' can go a long way ![]() ![]() We hope to bring the car back to the track in the near future to improve on this time... We know the car can achieve 10s AS-IS. September 8th 2012 UPDATE ! Today we have new dyno numbers. Don removed the cat located in the header Since we're seeing a lot more airflow we lowered the boost to 18PSI. Couldn't pull it to 8500-9000rpms because the Car is pegging the 3.5inch MAF ![]() -John

This is starting to make me want one. Seems like it is making power fairly easy.

Okay, I might sell my rexxie for that... In fact 400+ looks a little much. I would even settle for 300. Nice job guys! Can't wait to see where this ends up.

Track on Wednesday - with the tire we got it'll go 125in 4th gear.
I might bump the rev limiter to 9k - Gotta talk to Dave @ Head games and see what he thinks -John |

amazing.
what kind of motor build is it going to take to get the thing to put down good numbers on 93? I would imagine drop the compression to 9.5 or 10.5 and beef up the rods? thoughts on crank etc? how do the heads/cams seem to be flowing? |

I'm going to go out on a limb and say if you have over 430whp in this thing I think you'll be trapping at LEAST 125mph.

curious to see how the block and trans hold up to all this power. the car looks like its crazy fun on the street. If everything holds up then i may consider switching platforms. hmmm
only time will tell. sub'd for track results ! |

Very impressive for a car that weights this much. I'm very interested to see how the new engine designs from Subaru hold up under boost. This could be very good for everyone if they can take boost like the 4G63 can.

WOW! That power in a light RWD drive car like that. Serious fun. I'm really interested in seeing how long it lasts.
Please excuse me for wandering in the thread and asking what are probably some really dumb questions. You note that the injectors are upgraded. This car has eight injectors (four behind the valves, and four for direct injection), correct? I'm assuming the more traditional ones behind the valves were replaced, or am I wrong? Which set handles the majority of the fueling supply when under load? (My understanding is that the DI set handles the majority of fueling in the stock car; hopefully I don't have that backwards.) Is tuning between the two an absolute headache? Are you finding that in this setup the DI does as much as hoped to fight against detonation? Maybe this is all just over my head; I'm sure I should take time to research a bit more before asking. Hopefully I don't sound like an idiot. |

We've been changing out the port injectors The port injectors handle most of the fueling In Stock form it does a bunch of different stuff but in the upper RPMS mostly Port Injection At first it was a headache but now that I understand how everything works its not as bad as it seems. So far the port / di combo seems to be working well. John |

I think the FA20 so far has done really well. Remember that the FA20 has compression ratio of 12.5 vs 4g63 (8.8) and 4b11 (9.0) so pump gas vs pump gas is not a fair game.

Also, the 4g63 and 4b11 were designed and manufactured to be turbocharged from the factory. I agree, I think the FA20 is kicking ass for what it is. |
