The smell is amazing, I think it's the glue and steam mixed together. My Fiancé got in the car and was dizzy from the fumes, lol

It not as bad as I thought it would be. I think most of the fumes cleared out last night while it was curing in the garage.

What comes after "Scooby Specialist", "Scooby God"?
I'm nominating Jason for "Eminent Supreme Alcantarist"!

Thank you all for the kind words. I'm really enjoying the new interior and zero glare dashboard it totally changes the feel of the car. I'm thinking I might do some more pieces since anything plastic looks out of place now.

Winter will be the time for the headliner but for now I'll stick with covering the remaining pieces.

Cheers!!

- Jason

Winter will be a good test to see if the Alcantar sticks, yeah? Or do you think it will have little impact?

From what I heard the heat is a much bigger killer than the cold for peeling. I wouldn't be able to install it in the cold. I'd do it all inside.
I can't imagine this material coming off though. I re-did my A-Pillars yesterday and it took forever to get the Alcantara off. That new glue is lethal. It keeps vinyl tops on old muscle cars for 30+ years!! It's not coming off...

I want this wheel so bad... I can't see spending $750 on it, that's almost twice as much as I spent on the entire dash and console! Maybe I'll learn how to make one and cover it next

Yeah, JPM has been a great resource for info and material but they're a small business who could hurt by doing freebee's. They do enough in terms of spreading knowledge to the community. I'd like to have them wrap my stock wheel, but that D-Shape looks so much better.
If I could sell my stock wheel for a good price it would help pay for the Prova but the stock wheel sells for like $75 if your lucky... That won't help much

Thanks, the GTSpec is nice... I think I would like that one better than the Prova. I wonder what the price would be wrapped in Black and Gray Alcantara. I'll have to reach out to them about it.
Appreciate the idea!

You would have my vote if we ever had an interior based Top Scoob. Beautiful!

I have been eyeing the GTSpec for some time, but I can't get myself to spend that much money on a steering wheel. rsutton tells me it's worth it though...

rsutton and JPM would not be happy about this! Lol. I do like both of your interiors, but I really like the you've done the work yourself. That seems much more likely for me. There is no way I'd shell out the cash to have it professionally done. It looks amazing, but that's just not where my priorities are. It's inspiring to know that one could do this themselves!

Wow Ben, this means so much coming from you. I've always looked up to your handy work and ideas, thank you!!
As far as the wheel, I do like it but again it a lot of money for just a wheel so most likely it won't happen anytime soon. I'm working on some smaller mods that are cheap to keep me occupied between the new house and wedding next month.

Thanks for the photo bump

Your build is one of my top 3 builds on NASIOC.
Between you, Xluben, and Rsutton, you all bring something different to the table but have the same attention to detail in each of your cars. Your hatches are some of the best I've seen personally.

Thanks!! It looks great!! The whole build looks great!! Ive been doing interiors for a while now and thats some stellar work you did there. Going to have to give that glue a try, I've been using various glue's via the spray gun in the past and using a brush would keep the mess factor down alot.

It's an Honor to be in the same category as Ben and Robb, they have both been key players in a lot of my decisions for this car. I'm so new to the Subaru scene. I actually going to celebrate my 1 yr of a subie owner on Friday

I've been building cars my whole life but this community is so supportive and inspirational that it drives me to do more and be as creative as I can.

Thanks for being a part of it!

The HHR Contact is made for spraying but worked really well for brush too. I've used a foam roller as well with good results.
When I do the headliner, I'll spray. To brush both fabric surfaces would be really tough to do without running out of takt time.

I took some more shots this evening, finally broke out the strobes for this.

The lighting is three Profoto D1 Air 500w heads

1: Drivers side window + front glass through 3x4 softbox
2: Passenger side window + front glass through 3x4 softbox
3: Rear floor pointing into the headliner, bare head for fill
