That oil looks good. Went from a mid 40weight to mid 30weight. I bet you would've seen at least 15psi drop in oil pressure from when the oil was new.

I don't know if the oil pump impellers are undersized or the pressure relief spring is too soft or that engine badly needs oil pressure relief at the end of the oil galleys instead of at beginning. Couple that with narrow rod bearings and yeah, Subaru engines are sensitive to oil pressures which are very sensitive to oil viscosity.

Yeah, I'd really like to get a boost and oil pressure gauge as I'm planning to go stg2 soon too.

I cant believe nobody caught my NASIOC oil analysis joke reference. It seems like every time somebody posts oil analysis info anywhere on NASIOC some asshat responds that the motor is going to explode in 0.0002 seconds.

I agree alot of the rest of nasioc is iffy. For example if someone has pittsburgh or close to in their status i usually mention the pittsburgh thread. Not so today because the person was a rather new member number and instead of being helpful in a post, was pretty much an ignorant doosh.

Chime in on that thread and let "Lossol" know. The software is user-upgradeable so I don't think it would be a big deal for him to add that feature.

They make a wrx version too for all of you damn kids

i know it's on the road map. just a simple MIN rpmsi ratio. and obviously an audible warning with adjustable threshold.

only trouble is, i don't like working on it anymore since the fun part of the project is pretty much done. i need someone to handle the boring end of it.

Two 52mm gauges, boost and oil pressure, is what I want. I like that VBG1, but the obvious space for me is the center cubby, it's wasted space IMO.
