ADSI in Rhode Island is doing there normal Auto-x but this time it is going to be Pay-by-lap!!!

Price: $125 unlimited laps or $10 per lap

Anyone thinking they want to give it a try this is the perfect opportunity. You will learn more about your car in one lap of Auto-x then you would in a year of normal driving.

The track is a mile long on an active airstrip (on an abandon runway), makes for some pretty cool pictures.

It handles perfect. I love my coilovers!!! Even with the heavy ass car it feels so good in the corners.

Wonder how they'll handle getting people out of there once they've had a couple runs and want to leave. I imagine this will make for a much more crowded event.

They will most likely have someone escort people to the exit every hour or so (specific time increments).

Haven't needed either of those in the past. Very relaxed events.

Yea this is most laid back racing event I have ever been to.

From what it says on their facebook they will be leaving the back gate open so you should be able to come and go as you please.

Ever want to feel the difference in Z as opposed to an STI or a 300hp MR2 they let you ride shotgun with whoever you want (obviously if the driver approves). I thought that was pretty cool. I noticed I could barrel through the corners better then an STI but the STI can blast out of them so fast. It is one hell of a good time.

Yes we will have a staff member at the back gate to let people in and out.

"September 30th's Autocross is going to be a little different than usual-- we will still be doing our Full Day (Understanding Vehicle Dynamics-$250-8am to 5pm) and our Open Day (Unlimited Laps-$125-12pm to 5pm) like always, but we will also be offering pay-by-lap, as an Open House Event. The cost per lap will be $10 and is open to anyone. So it's your choice: Full Day, Open Day, or Pay-by-Lap,
bu...t no matter what you choose we will be meeting at the back gate instead of the office parking lot. We'll have a GPs location up soon for those of you unfamiliar with our location, as well as signs pointing you in the right direction on the day of the event. So spread the word and tell your friends who have been wanting to try Autocrossing!! Hope to see everyone there!! Oh and if you plan on doing the Pay-by-Lap, help us out and bring lots of $10s... it'll be easier and make the day go by quicker if we don't have to give change out at the starting gate!!! Thanks!!"

So this would be recommended for someone who's never run an auto-x before? The cost & course lay-out seem too good to pass up.

It is ideal for a person looking to get into the sport. Lots of seat time, instruction if you would care for it, and did I mention seat time? Start slow and work your way to until you feel comfortable.

Yes, and they usually have staff available for drive-along's if requested.

Just by having the instructor come along with me I knocked 4 seconds off my time.

And yes this is the first place I ever went, everyone is very helpful and easy going. I didn't feel uncomfortable even one bit. Very different then New England dragway.

They time it and send you all the times for the day in an email. And you can check throughout the day if you'd like too. But it's more of a fun/learning thing.

No trophy's for FTD, etc..... More like an instructional / test and tune event (for both car and driver).
