That is absolutely insane! If I saw that cruising down the street I'd flag you down and ask to have my picture taken with it.

Also, what are those gauges that you've mounted in front of your gauge cluster?

So here is the hood vent I made a while back when I switched to a FMIC...
Well I don't think a Subaru looks right without a hood scoop on it so I'm making a few changes to keep the hood scoop but use it as a vent ![]() Here's a sneak peak... ![]() ![]() Here's the vent I had before just incase anybody is curious... ![]() |

I don't think that setup will work. The front opening of the hood scoop needs to be blocked off and you should make a vent behind the hood scoop (facing windshield). Just my opinion to make it functional.

And now you get to see the finished product ![]() [quote=ppayer38;37967950]So here is the hood vent I made a while back when I switched to a FMIC... With the way the vent is shaped it in theory cant go in the hood in any way, shape, or form, and will continute to flow out. this also protects against water going into the vent which everybody alwasy is concerned about... ![]() ![]() ![]() Will add photos in a bit when photobucket stops acting up! ![]() Also the vent is something i was planning on doing with my track hood. it's a great idea, but i've read that blocking it off completely works best and ducting the sides of the rad so all the air goes into it and not around it.... ![]() |

Yeah a TMIC wouldnt work well at all haha...
So far the vent without the scoop worked best and I did see a decrease in temp all around. String tested the Hood sccop/Vent and it works as it should just havent gotten any #'s on a log yet... Also Im working on an idea to seal the FMIC to the Radiator and the Radiator to the car to maximize the airflow throught them |

Looks good!! Try taping some pieces of yarn at the bottom and top of the opening and drive around to see if airflow is actually coming out of it.

A little project I'm working on. Custom plate delete for the front of my car. Didn't really want to pay ~$50 for a little piece of metal. Currently it is designed as 10 GA steel. This is a prototype for fitment purposes. Just sent it down to the laser, hopefully have it some time this week.
Final design will most likely be 6063 or 5052 Aluminum, not sure on thickness yet. Whichever we have on hand. Edit: Aluminum for sure, as the steel part will weigh over a half a pound. I'd say it's unique, as it's my name (in the Subaru font). Custom, hell I designed the thing ![]() ![]() |

Just got it back from the laser. Just have to file off the burrs, primer, and spray it. Haven't got to test fit it yet.
