To be on the safe side you can drain the tank. But you can just run it down past the empty line and you will be fine. Make sure to test the ethenal content of the E85 when you fill up.

If you want a safe tune, 1/8 tank of gas +7/8 tank of E85 would make it pretty safe for a tune as long as your tuner knows what they are doing. In the winter some areas get E70 blend to help cars start in the cold, so 1/8th tank of gas may represent your "worst case" winter blend. |

So i thought i would post in here befor i start a thread asking were i can get e85 near englishtown nj. I am planning to go to englishtown for the sti vs evo day but i live in albany ny and it is about 180 miles each way. I see there are no e85 station in nj and i cant find any stops along the way there so i was wondering if they sell e85 at englishtown raceway? If not what would be my option filling up multiple 5 gal jugs full for the drive lol?

Can anyone tell me if I should be running colder plugs....I have a 2011 wrx, stock turbo running 17 psi, 1000 cc dw injectors, and a dw65c fuel pump. I've been running E85 for a couple weeks and made good power for having a stock turbo and inter cooler (306/359). I get a little hard starting when the car is already warm but runs good otherwise....any advise will help!

The rough hot starts have to do with hot start enrichment. For whatever reason, the stock tuning targets rich AFRs during hot starts, probably to help with evaporation or something. Gasoline doesn't mind running really rich like that but E85 will run rough and misfire. It should normally clear up after 15 seconds or so. If you are Cobb tuned, your tuner should be able to disable this enrichment, if you are Open Source tuned then it should be possible very soon as the definitions for these tables are being defined. I've been testing them on my own car. |

Hrmm...i'm running colder plugs in mine. Anyone had any issues with idle using colder plugs? Wonder if that could be the issue.
Makes sense though that E85 burns so much cooler you don't really need the colder plugs... |
