I got this from over head carry lunges when I was probably using 10-15 lbs too much weight. I've been sore for a couple days. Ugh.

Tennis balls, lacrosse balls, plastic golf balls, or the soft vinyl miracle balls work wonders for working out small areas that hurt on my body. So does deep tissue massage, although when she worked my back/shoulders over last time, it literally felt like her thumb was under my scapula. One of those hurts so good moments after a couple days.

Neek, you give me hope. Yes, I'd love to be a super goddess with 0% body fat, but I'd be good with fit enough to go play however I choose, feel good in my own skin, and be healthy. Even when I was skinny and 21, my cholesterol was high, so I'm not expecting a CF miracle in that respect. |

I wasn't expecting it to go like this either. It took me a solid 6-8 months before I was really doing any workouts as Rx on a regular basis. I DNF'd my first 3 workouts. Just sat on the curb and told my trainer that I wasn't gonna do another rep. I hadn't been able to to a single pullup my entire life.

I just love seeing the progress that I'm making and how much better I feel. I dont feel like I'm going to die after a WOD anymore unless I really push myself. It's also given me more confidence in myself since I'm seeing good changes body wise(I've always been a skinny guy and thats given me confidence issues in the past). I have tried other work out routines in the past and I love the varying types of workout that CF has.
I felt like a champ last week when I set a new PR for deadlift and squats(305 DL/275 Squat) |

love the new shoes Neek, they look great. No idea how but i now own 4 pairs of the Nano's and i do love them!
as for Crossfit in general, i decided to scale back to 3-4 times per week after doing 5-6 for a couple of months. i think that i was over doing it and i feel much better now and actually seeing better progress than before. the rest of the days are spent doing active recovery or mobility work. in addition, i started my PT yesterday for the tear in my rotator cuff which means that i have to sub a lot of movements. no shoulder press, no snatch, no push press, no bench press, no dips no push ups the good news is that my clean is getting much better and my deadlift is at 355 up from 315 ![]() |

![]() I'm sure that they will be running some Oly lifting seminars there at some point. Keep an eye out. Glenn and his team are coming down to South Florida and I'm signed up for his level 2 course in October. I love the way he teaches the lifts. |

yeah the aholes keeps posting tons of codes that don't work on any CF gear. i found this one by mistake and i don't think that it was meant for the public but it works great.

their stuff is way over priced but to be honest, their shirts are super comfy (i love the tri blend and its all i work out in now) and the CF shoes are amazing. i don't see myself ever paying full price for their stuff but with the 30% discount, it is actually cheaper than the alternatives.
so far as far as CF gear, after trying MANY different items, my go to list is: Shoes- Reebok Nano (i still prefer the V1) Shorts- Jaco hybrid shorts (simply amazing and much better than any other short i tried) Shirts- any tri blend or bamboo shirt |

I did that for nearly 2 years, but I recently picked up a pair of Maverick Athletic's shorts at a competition for $30 and they are pretty awesome. I have become hard to fit with a small waist and big booty and legs, and their size 32 is pretty perfect on me, stretchy in the right places, just the right length for squatting, very light, etc. Got a 2nd pair soon after.

Yeah that's pretty much all you need but for me, the lighter tri blend shirts just feel awesome and the 4 way stretch shorts with the cuts on the side are much better for wods with squats since they don't bunch at all and open up at the bottom of the squat.
Again, I I have no doubt that we can do everything with a cheap shirts and athletic pants from target but just like outside of the gym, I actually enjoy wearing stuff that feels good. |

Did yesterdays WOD to work on my overhead squat form. Last set was 125lbs and it felt pretty good. Only a slight wobble on the last rep. I probably could have done 135 but I think I would have been sacrificing form at that point.
